He's certainly an appalling communicator, which is always a great attribute for a negotiator.

He's definitely got a handle on how to apply hyperbolic superlatives to anything he can ineptly associate himself with.

Has a great line in shiny baubles with which to impress the insecure.

So he seems to have a few things going for him.

His point is to infer (because his dogma says so) his political opinion.

    OP

I trust The Swamp is paying you anti-Trump trolls well - you're sure earning it with the drivel you churn out day after effing day. I don't know how you get away with it under the rules. I've had infractions for less!

"Conservatives take Trump seriously but not literally.". . . The only logical interpretation of "not taking Trump literally" is that he doesn't mean what he says.

    That is NOT a spin.

Trump is without a shadow of a doubt the smartest US president in my life time. Love him or loathe him, that man is not dumb.

Those people who seek to play him as stupid, not so smart themselves.

Trump is a straight talker and not shy of grasping thorny nettles by the hand.

This is very rare in a politician. Very rare indeed.
His detractors will seek to spin anything and everything he says into stupidity and no one listening to them is taking them very seriously in this.
Any more than they did all the negative spin vs any other US president.

    I
    t's par for the course.

Donald Trump is a weak man's idea of a strong man, a poor man's idea of what a rich man is, and a dumb man's idea of a smart man.

Only a true mendicant would fail to describe Donald Trump as rich.

The fact that you think its the only logical interpretation is why your party is doing so poorly right now.

When Trump says he is going to build a wall, and Mexico pays for it, it does not mean he is going to actually build a 2,000 mile long concrete wall, and Mexico will hand him a big fat pile of gold to pay for it.

It means Trump is serious about border protection, to include a wall in some places, and he will negotiate thru trade deals, or foreign aid payments, or various taxes, border agreements, etc... that in some way Mexico will find itself offsetting the cost of border security.

    Trump doesn't use metaphors.

BTW, condescending comebacks devoid of substance do NOT constitute winning arguments.

. . . . But speaking of metaphors, come November, your high horse will shrink to the size of a Shetland Pony.

    Are you a mind-reader. . . . or an apologist???

With the high WH turnover rate, there should be an opening soon for Press Secretary.

All you need do, is listen to Trump. He and his admin have said numerous times, that the wall is not even feasible to be used in some areas. You don't have to read minds, just listen.

You probably only get your information from Trump-hating media, where they shovel as much misinformation, false assumptions, and fiction based talking points.

The economy is winning, the stock market is winning, we have record low U3 unemployment... jobs are winning. Trump just signed a huge tax cut which repealed the ACA mandate, opened oil drilling in Alaska and off shore, and significantly lowered the corporate tax rate. Trump has canceled the Paris Accords, is renegotiating NAFTA and other trade deals, has defeated ISIS in Iraq, and he has eliminated hundreds of harmful 0bama era regulations which were strangling US businesses - more winning.

Just where is all this "losing" you are talking about?

I think we have all seen the videos of him speaking to interviewers when he was young. There is a distinct difference in the two styles and degrees of effectiveness of his communication. Something changed and it wasn't for the better. Something is wrong. No question.

It's blatant when compared. It's not just his diminished vocabulary. He continually repeats what he said right after he said it.

Certain of the things I love about Trump is:
    1. When he's pushing for something - everyone knows and knows and knows
    2. When he's planning something and isn't 100% sure what he wants for a final outcome, he infers, using leading statements that are open for attack or support. This way he can discern what his supporters and haters think of the subject.
    3. He is always open to negotiate an outcome - DACA is a prefect example - during the campaign you could "infer" from the way he talked about immigrants who came here at an early age and were basically "Americans" that he was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt - but he never openly stated he supported DACA - thus it is a piece on the negotiating table to bargain with in negotiations with the Democrats - maybe so he can get his wall - and blame DACA failure on the Democrats if negotiations fail.

His ideal is a white-run America, which rules the world. It will never be.

That is just an ignorant conspiracy tale, and liberal talking point. It's the same lame assed talking point the left has used for every single Republican president. You guys always call them a racist white supremacist, a misogynist, homophobe, the next coming of Hitler, and the meme is always that every Republican president is a stupid, mentally incompetent, an illiterate moron, yadda, yadda, yadda.
