Hastings, MN, has two turbine-generators mounted underwater on catamaran barges about 50' downstream from the draft tubes of the original hydroelectric plant at Lock & Dam No. 2. This adds 2.15 megawatts to the original 4.4 megawatt output. This may be pretty cost effective electricity at low capital expense.

Its always funny listening to a stoner try to talk.

I'm sure he does find climate science confusing! But that speaks to him and not the science.

All you need is a bit of firewood for cooking game and fish on, and for the start of jerking meat.

Some people even jerk and dry fish, but that's not very palatable.

I just bought a sun powered oven on Amazon. If I ever get enough sun here in PA to use it I'll let you know how it does. At least they were honest and admit its best used as a slow cooker. I got this one because it was less expensive than most of the others, and folds flat for transport to a campground, etc. As they pointed out, it's good for outdoor cooking where fire prohibitions are in effect....

With a lot of sun I bet it would at the least be good for jerking meat, but I would still want some smoke on the meat to start with -- ordinary deadwood, nothing special.

Probably good for a noon meal. Maybe not for scrambled eggs & bacon early. Worth a try.

Gathering firewood can be a chore by mid-season, lot's of walking loaded and deadheading.

You can can your own meat and it will last over a year. Plus it is tender and tasty. We canned 65 pounds a couple years ago bought it on sale.
We also like solar. we are not young anymore so have to work smart.
