Trump’s “shithole countries” comment exposes the core of Trumpism

Yeah, I was out of the Air Force just as Vietnam was getting cranked up, but I did some traveling and wound up as a crewman on an MSTS ship running supplies into Vietnam. So, I can attest to the existence of shithole countries. My father also did some time in the Peace Corps; he had wonderful stories about shithole countries.

 

Just so. Trump sez plenty of top-of-mind things that the non-PC world understand as true and the PC world indoctrinate against using media and academia.

Haiti is a shithole. NOBODY goes there on vacation. Africa is a shithole. Remove the large mammals and nobody goes there either.

Most of these shithole countries lack human capital, low mean IQs and poor education. Why would we welcome their emigrees if they are sub-par? I don't want to pay for them on the dole. Why would you?

 

Trump's America is founded on stolen land, genocide and slavery labor. Racism is his national heritage.

But he is fighting a losing battle now.

 

There's nothing racist about the comment. Some people apparently can't handle Reality. Obviously, you're not well-traveled.

I was just in Jamaica. Except for the beaches, resorts and port built up by Cruise lines like Royal Caribbean and Celebrity, most of what I saw would constitute as a shithole. Poverty, wild chickens and stray dogs everywhere, people standing on street corners in rags. LOADS of partially built homes that looked abandoned. Our tour guide told us people come down to invest and build these amazing homes then drop out mid way through the process, so you have beautiful, near mansions on the beach that are 1/2 built shells, rotting away. Very sad.

 

That's because it had been flattened by thousands and thousands of bombs in 2003/04. How do you think any city would look like after that happened to that city?

 

Ok, but it was still a shithole. Haiti had a massive earthquake. It's a shithole. The question I have is why? From what I have heard, Haiti has recieved tens of billions of dollars in aid. What happened?

It exposes the way many Trump supporters think, certainly. Trump got elected being rude and bluntly saying the things that many "deplorable" Americans had already long been thinking and saying themselves. Trump is their guy. Of course, he is also Putin's guy, but they don't want that bit to be true, so it isn't. Until proven otherwise, anyway.
