CNN’s Martin Savage interviewed a diverse group of Democratic voters from Ohio on Wednesday who all praised President Donald Trump for the things he has done during his first year in office.

The group of Democratic voters, who had all crossed over to vote for Trump during the 2016 election, agreed in their assessments of the president and on the importance of his key agenda goals, like ending illegal immigration.

When asked how they thought he was performing, the group replied, "Fantastic," "Phenomenal," "Better than I ever would have dreamt," and "He's doing wonderful, he's staying on task."

The panel did not agree with the media and the Democrats' portrayal of Trump being a racist, as they also said he does not get a fair shake from the media.

One of the members of the panel, student Justis Harrison, a minority, said she met Trump and she did not think there was any reason to even suspect that he was a racist.

"He was just the nicest person and if he was a racist as everyone paints him out to be, he could have just walked right past me and not even said a word," Harrison said.

What...no one was surprised or stunned. He was specifically interviewing Democrats that had crossed over to Trump's side. That was the pre-selected demographic, why would this stun the interviewer?

This is why we don't post an opinion blogs clickbait title of an article, and post the article itself (or an objective article citing it, like https://www.realclearpolitics.com/v...at_trump_supporters_think_one_year_later.html).

    Even worse, http://www.theamericanmirror.com/cnn-segment-backfires-ohio-voters-praise-trump-better-ever-dreamed/

This article claims CNN's piece backfired....

Some honesty wouldn't hurt, and would even help your case.

Just stating no one in the video was stunned or shocked. They picked people who were pro Trump. No reason to create a fictitious title.

It's better to post an objective article on this like the RCP link I gave, rather than a click bait blog post on it that doesn't accurately describe it.

Why is the OP surprised that those gullible enough to support the BLOTUS are still gullible enough to believe that his subsequent canards?

This does not alter the REALITY that the MAJORITY of the nation understand that the BLOTUS is a complete failure.

    BZZT Wrong!

They allegedly left the Dem party in 2016 and there is zero indication that there are any more like them elsewhere in the nation "leaving" the Dem party.

No, you're understanding this backwards. You're not the intended audience for this message. The intended audience is supposed to get the message that no matter what happens Trump supporters won't budge, so don't bother reaching out to them.

Really? You actually need the significance pointed out to you? Despite the most incredible negative propaganda push EVER against a first year and first term president the combined lies of the leftist-allied mainstream media are failing when such life-long Dem Party members STILL accuse the MSM of endlessly lying about Trump and assert that he has been an excellent president of all of the nation to date. So, yes, the Dem Party is in trouble as the propaganda push from their MSM political allies is failing even to alter the thoughts of their own straying kind. Ouch!

You, the experts, the pundits, the polls, and MSM said the same thing when he beat the unbeatable hillary. I would be a bit more careful given what happened last time.

It seems that CNN mentioned on that video that it was not just these people, life long dems who voted for trump in that town, but 7000 of them. It isn't their fault, for trump just sounded like the democratic party they once knew. FDR's party. The party of the common american.

Stunned because 7000 life long dems in that town voted for trump. And they did it because he sounded like the old dem party, standing up for working americans Which is most of us. I don't think the modern democrat is a working american. So the working americans have to go somewhere, since the DP no longer represents them.

When have the libs ever argued on substance? They are the hate Trump party, period.

What’s the democrat platform going to be for 2018/2020? Not ONE single democrat voted to cut taxes for their constituents.

Pretend? Here we have Trump, who because on economic issues, including illegal immigration, beat hillary, the sure fire winner or so everyone was telling us. This was after Sanders was running on similar economic issues which have devastated working americans, for decades, and you say I am pretending? Clearly you are disconnected from where much of america is today, a scenerio where the party of FDR and working people, is no longer the party of the working american. I don't need to pretend anything. I called this election for trump on this very forum last year, after hillary become the nominee. Why did I do that, even when I did not vote for trump? Well, I am astute enough, being issue oriented and not personality oriented to notice what the problems are and who is affected by these problems, and the fact that once sanders got beat, the only change candidate left was trump. And he won because of his promises to working americans, instead of what the faux liberals claim, because of his alleged racism. It was never about racism, which was a fabrication by MSM and the DP. And the block of voters the Dems had kicked to the curb, working americans, many of them dems, finally understood the DP is no longer the party of the working people, but the upper middle class and corporate/banking interests. Which is why I left the DP while Clinton was in office. After being a dem all of my life, an FDR Dem. I think only people in my generation understand what happened to this DP. While you seem to be a clueless partisan, perhaps confusing real liberalism and progressivism with post modernistic thinking. I don't see the DP as liberal or progressive today...at all. It is an abberration of those two ways of thinking. Some Frankenstein monster, which has no soul. And has not represented working people, the lower middle, and middle middle class for decades. Or the majority of working americans.

The only democratic candidate that looked like the party of FDR to run in years, on the Dem. ticket is Sanders. And the DP ridiculed him! They cannot even recognize what the DP is supposed to look like. That is how far they have left the traditional party of the People. We always had a party of the business elites, and that is the GOP. Which is fine. But now we have two parties of the business elites. Trump won because he did not sound like either party. People are desperate, which you apparently cannot see. I did. And I called the election for trump. Being actually connected to reality allows such predictions. Being disconnected means you thought hillary was the winner.

Honesty is not what Trumpsters are about.

    That's one thing Trump knows.

The folks who have listened to Limbaugh and Fox for twenty years are not searching for honesty, information, or knowledge. They want validation, particularly if it comes from someone who promises easy fixes, simple solutions, and frames it with chest beating and bluster.

Do you feel better now that you got that off your chest?

    Good.

Now back to the topic at hand. The fact that 7000 Trump supporters still support Trump is of no significance. Trump supporters are notorious for being immovable on their support for Trump. There's nothing he can do to lose his base. That is why this story is virtually meaningless. It's stating the obvious.
