    Great.

Once the wall is up we can focus more resources on sinking their $1 million dollar boats and the millions of drugs on each one.

Senate Democrats Kill Bill to Keep Government Open Past Midnight

By SHERYL GAY STOLBERG and THOMAS KAPLAN 11:40 PM ET
Senate Republican leaders fell well short of the 60 votes necessary to proceed on the spending bill, which had passed the House on Thursday.

Somehow our lib friends don't understand shutting down one front to take on another.

I think this is your problem
"Under Senate interpretations of the Congressional Budget Act, the Senate can consider the three basic subjects of reconciliation — spending, revenues, and debt limit — in a single bill or multiple bills, but it can consider each of these three in only one bill per year (unless Congress passes a second budget resolution). Consequently, in the Senate there can be a maximum of three reconciliation bills in a year, one for each of the basic subjects of reconciliation.

Trump in 2011: “if there is a shutdown I think it would be a tremendously negative mark on the president of the United States. He's the one that has to get people together.” [4/7/11]

There's logic in this. Spend $20-50 billion dollars to stop less than 5% of the drug trafficking so you can then bolster the Coast Guard to stop the rest. Oh, sure, the 5% will probably just be replaced by drones flying over the wall but that's another issue.
    From USCG.mil
"The FY 2018 President’s Budget requests $10.67 billion for the Coast Guard, including $8.75 billion in discretionary funding.
This Budget sustains Coast Guard operations and continues recapitalization efforts for cutters, boats, aircraft, systems and infrastructure. The Budget also efficiently allocates resources to optimize Coast Guard mission performance."

We could double the Coast Guard's budget for years to battle smuggling of not only drugs but people, terrorists, nukes...or we could build a wall which will keep illegals in more than out and do absolutely nothing to prevent smuggling in drugs, terrorists, nukes...
Yep. there's logic there I just fail to see it.

Trump says you're right! In 2013 he said then that the Government Shutdown blame is the top. The President is to blame.

You misunderstood what I was trying to say...... When I said quite the opposite of "it starts at the top", I mean that NOTHING starts at the top of this administration. But I also firmly believe that Congress is responsible for passing legislation WITHOUT guarantees that this president will sign them into law... If Congress believes a piece of legislation is worth passing and it gets vetoed, then America is clear on who the obstructer is...

We need to take this power away from congress somehow. Maybe a constitutional amendment or something that if there is no agreement in congress the last budget just continues.

They should be removed from office as well when they come up for reelection if they do not change their attitudes. This is the only way to drain the swamp, through elections.

If a few Democrats don't vote for the spending authorization, it will be the Democrats fault is the government shuts down.

Attempting to blackmail the nation by shoving DACA into the authorization is on them. It's clear there is interest is finally correcting the edict the EX President invented, but it appears the Dems are more interested in election year propaganda, than doing what makes sense.

Correct. Trump was sent to drain the swamp so if you can't fix them, shut them down.

The Dems own this, hook, line and sinker.

Schumer and his advisors have always been rather dim bulbs, but usually they are bit brighter than the RP - not this time.
The DP will own this shutdown.

Bush was cut out completely in 2009, was never even presented that budget, yet the poster claims he is responsible for that budget and deficit because he did not veto it.

CBO numbers are historical inaccurate. But even taking thier number thats over ten years. The Democrats increaesed the deficit that much, $1,400, in just ONE year and kept it over $1,000B for the next three years.
