I thanked an anti American Norwegian bigot on Facebook and got warned

    Yesterday morning my brother tags me in a Facebook thread and tells me I'm not going to believe what I'm seeing. The thread is a meme of a Norwegian girl saying she gets free college, free health care, 6 weeks paid vacation, $16 minimum wage and some other stuff, so why would she leave Norway and go to a shithole like America who doesn't offer those things? Yes, she actually called America a shithole.

    There were hundreds of comments and the ones I looked at called America a racist country, called Trump a racist, his supporters are racist, they hope he eats more cheeseburgers and dies - in other words, the thread was full of the hateful anti American crap we see from far too many low information childish liberals, including some on this board.

    I wrote back that Haiti didn't have any of the things she considered necessary not to be considered a shithole and, by her own standards, all she did was verify that Trump's alleged comment was correct and for that I thanked her. That was the only post I made in that thread. I got hammered all day by the the left and then this morning I received a warning from FB not to make derogatory comments and I''ve been blocked from the thread and can no longer find it.

    My brother says the thread is still up and running and it's full of anti American and death to Trump comments.

    American president calls other countries shitholes, other people defend their country and call america a shithole which compared to Norway it is!

    Oh Trump is quite right about some countries, but you do not expect the President of the USA to say it, because other people have pride in their countries to, and when the most powerful man in the world behaves like that, he looks like an uncouth bully. If you want someone like Trump to represent you then that is your choice but do not be surprised when it gets thrown back at you.

    Well, folks, at this time the only remedy is to vote with your feet. The bias of lots of social media outlets is shocking, but will continue unabated until state law is changed to allow statutory contract or tort damages against companies who obtain value from users while claiming "open forum" and then apply the kind of censorious bias the OP describes.

    It is not a free speech issue, but a contractual and tort issue. Gathering mountains of social media post content that have value to the company, and then "culling out" whole groups of people arbitrarily is fraudulent and counter to fair bargaining, but damages are miniscule. It could be years before states address this or never, so for now, the only thing to do if one feels strongly about these practices is to seek out competition for social media that is more fair, just don't use the services, or complain to advertisers.

    Ask your fellow, deranged TDS sufferers because it's overwhelmingly unhinged LW "screaming helplessly at the sky" in this way, not anyone else. The example in OP is just one of millions of examples of it.

    First of all, Trump claims he didn't say it. Second of all, if he did say it he didn't say it on Twitter or on TV, it was a private conversation. Third, the comment was intentionally leaked by a member of an opposing party.

    The point was that even mild responses such as described in the OP are being censored, while all manner of LW raving is fine and dandy, not surprised you didn't get that. But I'm sure OP appreciates your bumps of the thread.

    So now you're the arbiter of where politics can be discussed? Weren't all those Russian ads on Facebook that changed the minds of liberals so they'd vote for Trump political in nature?

    because why tell the truth? I guess he could have used some other words like we do here that mean the same thing, but once looked up and understood leave the recipients feeling like the member was just bloviating.

    I made one comment, it wasn't a discussion. In fact, the entire thread appeared to be a hate America and hate Trump thread, sorta like what we see here.
