Why Do we have anti semites & 9-11 truthers posting in this forum?

I thought anti Semitism was a serious no-no on most political forums and you can't even post 9-11 truther stuff on The Democratic Underground (you have to agree not to do so when you sign up).

So why do we get so much of that drivel in what is supposed to be a relatively seriously forum for political discussion?

Shouldn't the anti Semitic stuff and posting 9-11 truther BS outside of the dedicated conspiracy forum be grounds for permanent banning?

 

Sure, maybe, if they get rid of all the race-baiting and obvious flamebait at the same time.

Haven't seen much 9-11 truther stuff here though, at least in the three largest subforums.

 

Okay, let's make a rule that makes Jews immune from criticism on PF.

So with that logic, as to not have any double standards, let's make all other religious groups immune from criticism as well.

No more criticism of Christians or Muslims otherwise you get banned.

I mean, surely you don't want to ban antisemitism but let Christianophobia and Islamophobia run amok on PF like it is now, do you?

 

I didn't say make Jews immune from criticism, but even as a life long Christian who doesn't have any special regard for Jews I find the BS about "Jews ruling the world or at least having inordinate influence on the United States" to be tedious and insulting at best.

 

Tedious and insulting enough to want to censor it? IMO stupidity of any stripe is better in the light of day... other than obvious flamebait designed specifically to get a hostile reaction than any sincere expression of opinion. The white nationalist "jooz crowd" posts here seem far more sincere than lots of the race-baiting in that respect.

 

Right, so as you say yourself, it's about Jewish political influence in the US, so this is only directed at Jews with any kind of power, either in the media or in politics. Surely you don't think people on the forum are blaming your everyday Jewish baker for this do you.

So it's not an attack on Jewish forum members, who have nothing to do with that unless they explicitly choose to take a side, it's an attack on a small elite class of politicians and media figures.

So no, the "insulting" thing completely falls flat, nobody on the forum is getting insulted for being a Jew, it's a political agenda that's being opposed, which is kind of the point of a political forum dontcha think.

 

Political forums, have become OBVIOUSLY, targets of RUSSIAN bots, and, STORMFRONT and other hate group websites, come to places like this, to run LIBERALS out. I was outted from one not long ago. They conspired against me, and SAID SO.

As a liberal shithead I fully support their right to speak. Thats how free speech works, and I support these forums emulating free speech rights as closely as possible. They should have the right to speak, and we should have the right to ridicule them for their beliefs. Nobody is demanding you agree with them. Nobody is demanding you pay attention to them.

If this place starts banning people for offensive ideologies I'm gone. I don't come here to experience a safe space echo chamber.

All forms of hate were laying low, and we didn't have any idea how prevalent they were. The right wing ANTI PC movement, uncovered the freaks and haters, and now we can DEAL with it.

 

I don't mind the policy of allowing free speech on the board, even for views that non-deplorables find anathema.

I do find it a little disturbing that folks get infracted for calling out racists and bigots.

Too much stupidity gets distracting and drags the entire place down, especially when enough of the membership is on that level. PF risks becoming a kook forum instead of a political debate/discussion forum, a place for clowns to amuse themselves to the point of driving others away.

A serious forum enforces certain standards that keep the place civil and on-topic. Unfortunately, there is such a thing as too much free speech, especially on the intardwebs.

 

Well, true, and maybe I'm biased, but remaking this into any kind of serious policy forum would cut way more harshly against one side than the other.

 

Why do we have KKK members posing as white nationalists posting in forum? Why are Birthers allowed to post in the forum? You can’t thought police the world and it’s good to remind yourself that there is crazy out in the world.

If you want to post an article and then have everyone sing its praises the Huffington Post is down the hall. This is a debate forum. If everyone agreed and had similar views it would be really boring.

 

I don't believe for a minute that providing a venue for people to advance ridiculous and for that mater deeply offensive and injurious ideas advances the cause of free speech or public debate.

The most hilarous thing is you commies' claim of being "anti-establishment". You're the establishment, and you control the speech rights of your opposition if they don't agree with the Pravda.

 

It's because right wing lunatics are emboldened by anonymity here on these forums. This place is a dumping ground for every nutty thing that enters the mind of a trump sycophant. It takes a certain detachment from reality to support such a man, and this is probably cathartic for them. We regularly get racist, misogynist, bigoted remarks from trump supporters on a daily basis. I doubt they would have the courage to say these things in public. They probably lie in public and say they voted for him for economic reasons, because nothing instills confidence like a serial bankruptcy artist. It makes sense though, their hero is a draft dodging coward.They have to come here to be the racists and bigots they've always been. Ya know, no consequences and all.
