The crux of the issue is body autonomy. The precedent set by banning abortion could lead to the banning of other elective surgery and even forced implantation, forced vaccination or forced abortion. As much as I hate abortion, its precedentally important to maintaining sovereignty over our own bodies.
Then why are there kids who actually age out of the system without being adopted? Where are all those Anti-Choicers when actual KIDS need help? Poor people and minorities have little in the way of options. Why not empower them instead of pushing them to kill their children.
Given the nature of our political elites- yes, its an entirely realistic and terrifying possibility. They love authoritarianism and want control over anything and everything they can muster. You bet they'd use abortion restrictions as legal precedent to strap us down and do unnatural things to us. 'For the greater good' of course.
They are empowered by having a CHOICE....you want to take away that choice/power....... No children are killed in abortion, adults know that.
