An unusual perspective. Seems to be coming from a never-Trump conservative position. Read the whole thing at the link:

So basically trump seemed like he might go with his old liberal ways and you were wondering if he could be relied upon to vote lock step with his buyers on the right. When he showed he voted with whoever gave him the best deal as long as they paid him you got more confidence in him? A little while back it looked like it might be advantageous to him to start talking to the dems and he started doing it. If they cut him a good deal he will go. There is only so long he will need support from the alt right. If he could make money and get support on the left he would leave the alt right in a second. Problem is the left knows his game and isn't going to give him any money.

So I guess you are right he is a pretty safe bet for going your way, but the problem is he fails a lot. That is why the left isn't buying his deals anymore. If you want to own a failure he is your man.

A little humor, I like that, it soothes the hurting soul. Don't worry It gets better. Just think next month you get a tax cut.

I have to say anyone who was sold on this notion of Trump being a closet liberal, was eating those paint chips. He is a creation of the corporate mindset and is as infatuated with the power of money and wealth as any rightwinger politician has ever been. Anything that inhibits the worship of the almighty dollar is an impediment to liberty in his view. That means he is a William F Buckley anti-regulation, pro-profit, anti-union, anti- environment, anti-consumer rights pro corporate, pro gun, pro-military conservative, who is as passionately opposed to abortion, civil liberties, civil rights, the separation of church/state, as anyone else in the party.

I don't know who all was selling that line of bull, but I never believed it for a single second.

Mollie says it best, "It took a while for Capitol Hill to get used to working with Trump, but by the end of the year, lawmakers had passed the largest corporate tax reform in U.S. history and secured tax cuts for the vast majority of Americans." It seems when Trump said he'd talk to dems look what happens, Republicans fall in line, even Flake has voted with the President 90% of the time. Seems high for a nevertrumper.

I am pretty sure trump is not that opposed to abortion. There is no profit in taking out abortion. I am sure he will take anti abortion donation money for some lip service, but he is not going to do much about abortion. He might need to pay for one for his kids. I don't think he has to worry about his old sperm making a kid anymore, but his boys could knock some poor woman up, or ivanka might need one.

If you take away the seat belts, air bags, brakes, and collision safety features, cars would be cheaper too.

Screw your kids and grand kids for profit. And this from the party of family values.

But then evangelicals elected a confessed pssy grabber so nothing surprises me anymore. And duping Joe the Plumber with deregulation is an old ploy. That is exactly how we ended up with a crashed economy in 2008.

And America has already chosen to be a shthole. So be it.

I remember this. I was there. I remember the air being so toxic that we weren't allowed to go outside; when just living in the San Fernando Valley was on par with smoking a pack of cigarettes a day.

Swarming they are, like vermin. Overwhelmed. Flooded.

It's an insecure and victim-centric mind which buys into tabloid drivel like the above.

Nothing is stopping you from wearing a seat belt or using an airbag. For my purposes side curtain airbags are unwanted - I drive offroad a lot and the visibility cost is not worth it.

In the absence of regulation you are free to purchase a car with side curtain airbags. With regulation I am NOT free to purchase a car without side curtain airbags. It is illegal for me to even remove them myself.
