My daughter forced me to watch a large portion of the MMVA's yesterday evening.......
(Much Music Video Awards).... and it is obvious that a high percentage of young
people consider P. M. Justin Trudeau to be one of the coolest political leaders on earth........

... frankly I agree with them........

and even though I joined his political opponents.... it was not because I dislike him at all......
it is because the Conservative Party has a veteran who I am willing to go to extreme

Back in 2007, when I wrote the following e-mail to my M. P., I just did not understand how powerful a case can be presented for the pro-choice position.

MP Peter Mackay. Did you become pro-Choice based on misleading statistics?

At the time that I wrote the e-mail that can be viewed in full in the opening post in that other thread.....
I would call my self 80 - 90 % pro-life and 10 - 20%.... pro-choice.....(because even at that time I
could certainly identify with a woman who would decide to abort her child if she had been raped,
or a victim of incest...... or if her physician told her that taking her pregnancy to full term would greatly
endanger her own life?!

....... At this time..... I am still mostly pro-life...... but I no longer believe that the issue of abortion
can be solved through legislation that is paid for by a tax....... but instead is partly an economic issue
because our Canadian (and American) economy is much tougher than we like to think.

One of the reasons why I want to campaign at the Municipal Level is because I truly believe that by
printing up some form of local currencies............ it is theoretically possible to make non-profit organizations
in each area much more "wealthy"...... at least in terms of those local currency notes......... which could
in theory assist organizations that care about the abortion issue to expand the realm of choice available to
mothers......... who are considering having an abortion.

(For the record...... I would support Mr. Peter Mackay to become National Leader of Canada's Conservative Party even if he
simply terms himself pro-choice. If America elects The Donald as President...... whoever becomes national leader of the Conservatives
will become something of an unofficial Canadian Ambassador to the USA).

Here is the way that I feel the range of choice available to women can be significantly expanded
by any political party willing to take some political risks:

Bill Maher, a man much admired on the left and who speaks to a large audience addressed the selling of fetal body parts by Planned Parenthood as revealed by The Center for Medical Progress. He said “They’re not body parts. They’re fetal tissue. ‘Body parts,’ you make it sound like Frankenstein is in there.”

Many years ago I attended to a young couple who had gone through a genetic abortion. Something was wrong with the fetus and the decision was made to abort. I walked into the storage area where the two young people stood looking at the “fetus” which was fully formed and pink. The baby was on a towel on a shelf and a nurse was standing by. It was, after all, a fetus, wasn’t it? Despite the fact it looked no different than many newborns. I wonder if Mr. Maher would have been comfortable twisting the neck of the”fetal tissue”?

The tone of the abortion debate needs changing. Abortion is far more nuanced than the black-and-white Manichean false dichotomy that has developed since Roe versus Wade.

It’s time we look at our views on abortion from the perspective of how we see ourselves as a society. We in the West talk about and see ourselves as compassionate caring people, looking out for the weak and vulnerable. We define ourselves by the way we treat the most vulnerable in our society, which ultimately speaks to our compassion, individually and communally.

Let’s take the opportunity provided by the Planned Parenthood videos to start another conversation; a different conversation about abortion. Let’s throw out the false canard that a fetus is not a living being. True, a human fetus must incubate inside the womb for nine months, unlike a kangaroo fetus which leaves the womb at a month and lives outside in the pouch, until fully grown. Is a kangaroo fetus considered a living being because it lives outside the womb, despite the fact that it is as helpless as a human fetus in the womb, while a human fetus is just cells?

Yet, thankfully, in America, only 650 women die from complications from a pregnancy. Would prefer that it were zero but it is not a health catastrophe as it is in third world countries. Rape and incest are often used as scare tactics to prevent opening and broadening the discussion about abortion. So far in 2015, of the more than 685,000 abortions that have been performed in the USA, approximately 6600 abortions were the result of rape or incest. Approximately 33,000 were performed after 4 months gestation, while more than 17,000,000 black babies have been aborted since 1973. The good news is that although 1.06 million abortions were performed in 2011, it’s down from 1.21 million abortions in 2008, a decline of 13%. Source

Focusing on women’s health as the only criteria for the right to abort erases the fact that more often than not a fetus, potential life, is created by two consenting adults. We have decided, though, that men, who donate half the DNA to this as yet to be born creation, have no rights at all because they cannot incubate their genetic material.

I have watched as over the years of this debate there has been a tendency by those who demand an absolute right to abortion to dehumanize a fetus. Make it into a thing. Some refer to it as a glob. Others, like Bill Maher, deny the facts before their eyes. Science has given us the ability to see a fetus moving in the womb; with sonograms and now 3D sonograms. We can identity all the functioning body parts needed to live outside the womb. We can hear the heartbeat early in the first trimester. While science has given us the ability to humanize the fetus in the womb, pro-choice organizations who call themselves Progressives are busy with language debasing the fetus.

I think we have consciously chosen to call a fetus a thing to make abortion more palatable, easier to perform because we have dehumanized it. We have taken away any notion of life. Have we not learned from the past about the danger in dehumanizing life? Remember Rwanda when the Hutus demonized the Tutsis; defining them as rats and vermin. Easier to kill a rat, to kill vermin than people. The Nazis excelled at that propaganda and at killing living beings, I think beyond their wildest imagination.

If there is to be a truly open and honest debate about abortion, let us have the courage to call what is about to be destroyed by name. Let us not fall prey to disingenuous language and obfuscation. I suggest that how we speak of a human fetus speaks to our humanity; our compassion. Let us have the courage to acknowledge that this isn’t about women’s health; physical or mental. Abortion is rarely associated with life and death of the mother. It’s all about life and death of the fetus – not a tumor nor a hangnail, but a potential, fully formed human being that is more often than not, not wanted.

We must wake up to the fact that our way of life is under attack: Not only from acts of terrorism leaching into our countries but internal pressures of worshiping the false gods of absolute tolerance, inclusion, and accommodation to the point that we welcome beliefs, customs, and rituals that undermine our democracy—in the name of democracy! If we are going to preserve the freedoms we now take for granted we must return to that teaching, to words that bear great fruit, because the foundation of Western democracy is ethical monotheism, the 3500 year old ethic which began in the desert, was brought into Israel, then expanded outward with the spread of Christianity through the Mediterranean then into Europe where the teachings were translated into English and brought to the new world. Countries that are founded on the Bible became functioning and then flourishing democracies. This book of laws, gave us amongst other values, the fundamentals of our court and justice systems and business law. The Bible entreats us to be our brother’s keeper by moving away from tribal behaviors, to behave like Abraham who questioned God and protested on behalf of others, so that we develop, practice, and internalize compassion and empathy. These values are essential for democracy to function, because a just society must at times implement policies that disregard individual wants and needs. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has just made a serious error........ that will divide "his" Liberal Party into two groups........... those who at least empathize with the Pro-Life movement.... .and those Liberals who are so politically correct that they have nothing but contempt for anybody who disagrees with their own personal views.

My wife is Pentecostal..... she is extremely Pro-Life.... and although I personally understand and to a significant degree empathize with the Pro-Choice Movement.......... if Charles McVety has understood P. M. Trudeau's proposal properly........... then P. M. Trudeau has just torched and burned his Liberal Party and handed the 2019 election to Conservative Leader Mr. Andrew Scheer, (who incidentally was my #2 choice in the leadership campaign after Mr. Kevin O'Leary)!

In a recent town hall meeting, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced his reasoning for not permitting Christians to apply for Canada Summer Jobs. Trudeau said that those who seek to restrict abortion are "not in line with society".

The Canada Summer Jobs program provides over $200 million per year to fund some 70,000 students with seasonal employment. Just before Christmas, Trudeau changed the requirements for funding which now demands that applicants and employers sign a document to attest that they support women’s reproductive rights, and the rights of gender-diverse and transgender Canadians." No bible believing Christian can sign such a document therefore the result is clear, Christians need not apply.

It appears that our Prime Minister does not recognize that each and every Canadian must be treated equally before the law and receive equal benefit including opportunity for students to be employed under the CSJ program. Section 15 of Canada's Charter of Rights and Freedom, says "1) Every individual is equal before and under the law and has the right to the equal protection and equal benefit of the law". Some may argue that his discrimination is not overt in that he does not explicitly name Christians; however, his descriptions are crystal clear. Christian individuals and organizations are at the forefront of fighting for person status of unborn children and protection of Children from radical sex education teaching.

One would hope that Trudeau's discrimination is temporary; however, back when Justin Trudeau was first elected as Prime Minister, over two years ago, he told local Toronto pastors that "Evangelical Christians are the worst part of Canadian society."

Hundreds of Christian organizations and thousands of Christian students have now lost funding for this year's summer jobs. Church leaders have begun to push back. If the government is allowed to blatantly deny Christian students employment, it won't be long until other Christians feel the threat of losing their jobs simply for practicing what the Bible teaches. In fact, it has been reported that this prohibition has already expanded to other programs such as the Canada Service Corps including the YMCA.

We must not allow Trudeau to deny students jobs for not swearing to support abortion and multiple genders. We can stop this if we petition God, take action by contacting our Members of Parliament, call the Prime Minister at 613-941-6900 and sign the petition at www.mcvety.ca

I am fairly certain that your statement is incorrect and I believe that better and better science will confirm it to be possible for the foetus to experience pain much earlier after conception than we tend to imagine.

But my goal...... is a paradigm shift in the economy of the USA that will benefit women..... even more so than men...... which will give opportunity to the seventy percent or so of women who felt pressured into having an abortion......... to be able to afford to deliver..... and raise their baby..... even in cases where the father lacks a sense of responsibility or natural affection for their own child........ and for the mother of their child!
