Steele is a well respected specialist when it comes to Russia and his expertise wasn't questioned back in 2014 when the original FISA warrant on Carter Page was issued because of his contacts with Russian spies. This is long before your BLOTUS came onto the scene as a potential GOP candidate.

So attempting to discredit Steele now is not going to work.

 

Carter Page was consorting with a Russian spy is 2013 and 2014. That spy was later caught and convicted.

The GOP just passed an amended version of the FISA legislation. Bush/Cheney did away with the need for FISA warrants to spy on American citizens in Section 702. Why didn't Nunes fix that when he amended the legislation just 2 weeks ago?

 

The FBI were operating in accordance with the laws as passed by Congress.

The memo makes disingenuous and fallacious allegations about the FBI that don't stand up under critical scrutiny.

 

The Dossier was NEVER existed when the original FISA warrant was issued for Carter Page in 2014 because of his contacts with Russian spies. It wasn't even needed at all to justify further warrants regarding his contacts with the Russians during the Trump campaign.

In essence the dossier is a red herring.

There is no evidence that the "system was abused".

It appears that his whole premise for abuse is that the Steele report was included in the FISA request and not identified as a report initially funded by a conservative group and then the DNC. What he's not saying, because he didn't read the FISA request himself and apparently he doesn't want to know, is what else was used. Since the requests are typically around 12 pages it would have taken less time to read than the number of times I've read jaw-dropping to describe his memo. We know that there was intel from Australia that the Steele dossier confirmed so at least that much is valid and that would have been the only part used in the FISA request as the rest of the dossier is irrelevant and would not be submitted. Were there other documents used? We don't know but the judge was convinced that there was enough to justify renewing the request 3 more times.
As to the hoopla that the the Steele report was funded by people that do not like Trump is irrelevant. Steele had provided intel before that the FBI and CIA and NSA had used and found accurate. Whether his report was funded by the DNC or my aunt Helen doesn't matter. He had a rep and it was good, nothing has been proven wrong in his report. Why would they exclude what he found this time?

 

But it is happening, you just don't want to admit that the democrats used illegal tactics to get what they want. Being on the wrong side is not very comfortable.

 

The dems are working on their own memo and it has to go through all the same hoops this memo went through before it can be released. You are a little early to say it is not been allowed to be released.

The Dems already have their memo completed. The GOP are obstructing a vote in the committee to release it.

 

It has to go through the same process the other memo did and it hasn't completed it as yet so a vote is not due. That's not saying it will make it through the vote because the democrats didn't want Nunes' memo released so why should the republicans want the democrats memo released. It hasn't gotten to that point as yet.
