Don't be surprised the nutjob in the White House has nutjobs advising him on spiritual and biological matters:

This crazy lady, who is on Trump's evangelical advisory board, literally says in the video that Jesus gave us the flu shot, so we don't have to worry about contracting the flu. Then she prays for people who have the flu, lol.

    https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/gloria-copeland-flu-jesus_us_5a792055e4b00f94fe944ac8

If you're wondering who else makes up the all-star list of evangelical advisers to Trump, check out the list here: https://thinkprogress.org/meet-donald-trumps-new-evangelical-advisory-board-6a5bfc5460d7/

Every dumb-dumb the Clown-In-Chief surrounds himself with is just another indicator of what a dumb-dumb he is himself. Come on America! You can do better than this!

I highly recommend no republicans get any vaccinations in the name of the lord or go to a doctor for that matter. Believe in thy lord and anything is possible. Keep the faith.

Or heart medicine or any other medication, he will do fine on cheeseburgers...

...maybe it's a plot to do away with Health Care altogether....we'll just mumble chants and see how healthy we all get :)

You would think at some point people who voted for this nimrod would begin to feel embarrassed.

Is she drunk? Or just batshiit crazy? It is no wonder the far fringe right is completely nuts and it's no wonder other countries are laughing their asses off. There is not one leader of a western democracy who would have someone that loony tunes as part of any advisory board.

Perhaps this ties in with the decision to cut 80% of the funding for the CDC's epidemic prevention activities. The new strategy - we'll just pray the problems away, someone named Jesus will take care of this.....

The Muslims have ISIS and the Christians have.... this lady, and the entire evangelical advisory board. The one group of extremists kills people with guns and knives, the other kills them with ignorance.

What's embarrassing is not being able to win a fixed election.

Tell me what you think about football players who look up and thank God for letting them catch that pass?
What about people who survive a traumatic event and thank God for saving them?

Do you apply the same invective?

Well, objectively speaking, vaccine makers were sheilded from all liability by Regan in (iirc) '86. Damages for faulty, polluted or dangerous vaccines are paid out of a tax on vaccine sales (basically consumers collectively cover their own damages...), leaving little incentive for big pharma to make safe vaccines so long as they can keep media coverage of the damages to a minimum.

Based on that alone, I recomend avoiding vaccines, or at least being very very careful about reading up on them prior to usage.

The flu shots are largely ineffective this year, and probably won't help (however it might help), but even so, the flu shot is worth the old college try -- because Mama said use what you got, and an ineffective flu shot is all you got.

"Someone is waiting just for you
    Spinnin' wheel, spinnin' true
Drop all your troubles by the riverside
Catch a painted pony on the spinning wheel ride" (Blood, Sweat & Tears)

Give the flue shot wheel a spin.

They are either too shallow to notice or are 1000% lost. I am with the latter.

    1. If Trump is religious, then I am Spartacus.

    2. In a 2015 interview, Trump said he never gets the flu shot.

    3. The Trump White House is refusing to answer any questions about whether the President has received the flu shot.

The third option is they've become Donnie's Death Cult.
You can't argue with a cult member. They can only be deprogrammed
    over a period of time.

When's the last time those football players told their fans that to be a professional athlete all you have to do is pray? Even they aren't that dumb. It's sad that I'd have to point out such an obvious difference to you. Perhaps you've given up trying to think for yourself?[/QUOTE]

Can't address the topic so you retreat to "my guy won" again, eh? When are you going to hold this guy to any standard beyond (1) old (2) white (3) guy?

Kind of got me wondering, does Europe have a good flu shot, or do they use the same ineffective shot we have in the US?

Gosh, Europe is even worse off than the US:

    https://www.cdc.gov/vaccinesafety/concerns/history/narcolepsy-flu.html

"Narcolepsy Following Pandemrix Influenza Vaccination in Europe"

They're falling asleep at the wheel and crashing through doctor's offices.

Oh darn. An anti vaxxer. The liberal equivalent of a creationist.

Put simply, it is a numbers game. In the 80's, some vaccines caused problems, like saving the lives of 1000, but caused the death of 1 child as a cost. And since vaccines rely on herd immunity (i.e. vaccines needed to be taken by 90% to be effective), they need to be cheap.

Price in damages from the law suit of one death, would massively inflate the costs of vaccines, which would negate herd immunity, meaning no one benefits from the vaccine. Which means 1000's of needless deaths, rather than the occasional bad reaction death.

So in this case, removing liability saves lives.

Oh btw, only a few vaccines had problems. They have improved massively since then, because scientists, even in faceless corporations, do not like hurting patients.
