Wasn't it Bush who pushed through the Patriot Act? That act included government snooping on the population without a warrant, indefinite jail for terrorism suspects without a fair trial, and torture. Also Republicans support allowing the DEA to seize money and property from people suspected to be involved in drugs without an actual trial or conviction and no due process to have hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of property returned. Trump is also a big supporter of eminent domain where the government forces people out of their provide property and forces a purchase. America has always been a land of immigration which Republicans want to limit and restrict. The founders believe in a separation of church and state, something Republicans want to reduce. The Founders were also in favor of small volunteer militias instead of a standing army and non-interventionism while Republicans want increased military size and a more aggressive foreign policy. Republican presidents tend to start a lot more wars, and without congressional approval which is unconstitutional.

Democrats also have big differences from the founders but the reality is that neither party is anything the founders envisioned and we are a very different country. If you want a party that supports the real principals of the constitution, become a libertarian.

 

AND ... it's only a matter of time before the Russiantrolls are scapegoats for everything! The Scalise massacre? Russian propaganda set him off ... Yep, Dems will milk this nothingburger like a dairy cow, for years.

Ummmm . . . both happened. Remember that it wasn't only a room full of face-book using Russian nerds but that Hillary Clinton paid many, many millions of dollars to Steele who worked for the Russians who concocted a phony dossier on Trump and she then saw to it that it went directly into Trump-hating RINO hands and into the hands of her and Obama's politically corrupted FBI upper level hierarchy; and so both happened.

 

That's the irony, Bernie was never intended to become a serious political rival to Hillary and his political ascendency took him and Hillary and the DNC by surprise. Bernie was working for Hillary but had to make it look like he wasn't.

I agree, aside from a few, Americans are clueless as to how things work. On occasion I take the opportunity to explain the petro-dollar system to people.

What the hell does gerrymandering have to do with Presidential elections?

 

They are deeply invested in their alternative facts.

They need them because they can't make a fact based argument.

 

Russians. A foreign power that has been an political and military rival to the United States for nearly a century.

Liberals. Americans who see the injustices in our society and want to fix them for the betterment of all.
