    Which ones?

What relevance does the presence of windows play?

Perhaps the above objections should be considered grounds for replacing glass with polycarbonate composites capable of withstanding ballistic attacks, while still providing plenty of visibility.

Yes and a moat around the school and razor wire

Or we could just have gun control

With no indication that the lives of the innocent are the ones actually being saved.

I would bet that far more students would want to carry than teachers.

So just arm the children. That way everyone is armed. That the armed PE coach takes five minutes to get to the site of the shooting doesn't matter. If a kid pulls a gun, all the kids just blow him away in a moment. ;)

If trained cops couldn't react with their weapons, why would teachers?

Stop trying to make cops out of teachers. This idea isn't about saving lives. It is about saving money. Rather than providing proper and professional protection, trump and the NRA and gun nuts want a bunch of unprepared, minimally trained, amateur cops on the cheap, rather than proposing a realistic solution. It isn't a good solution. It is just cheap. He'll give bonuses! Wow!!! What a scam!

So instead of building a wall, trumpers, how about fences and security around schools?

How much protection for schools can be provided for the price of trumps wall. He says the wall will cost 25 billion.

I show that there are about 90,000 public schools in the US. So that means for the price of trumpy's wall, you could put over $270,000 into security for each and every school.

Hell, for 25 billion you can make a national internet school system, and just eliminate public schools altogether.

Short term solutions are things like hardening schools, armed guards and confiscation of guns for threats to shoot up schools. Long term is more complex. We need to figure be out why these kids are doing this and work on that.

So no long term solutions and your short term solutions have never worked anywhere

What gun law do you propose that would end school shootings?

We already have gun control but we still see these things happen from time to time.

Nothing will end school shootings. But there is a ton of stuff we can do to reduce them

We need to reduce that frequency with more gun control

    Hyperbolic nonsense.

For the simple, undeniable fact that the educators would actually be inside the building where the greatest threat is, while law enforcement is standing around outside while students are murdered.

Pray tell why were the doors of the school unlocked, so that anyone can freely wander inside off of the streets? Why is school security so lax, that someone can walk right into the building while carrying a rifle, and do so completely unnoticed?

It's pretty much the law. Teachers go through background checks (including fingerprinting) in most states. Convicted felons are not allowed to get a teaching certificate in the states I'm aware of (in the Southeast). I don't agree with teachers with guns as a plan to stop school shootings, but I would trust the majority of teachers that I know to do so if they wished. The problem is that most teachers I know don't want to carry a gun in the classroom.

The one law I proposed that you dismissed, (confiscation of guns from anyone threatening to shoot up a school) would do far more than all the feel good laws you proposed put together.

I hear what you are saying and I have heard this point before. But we remain the country with the most guns per capita in the developed world. I don't think that is good enough for me. I want us to do better. Not a perfect system but a better one.
