    Just Boomers say Nazis are left wing. It wasn't convincing the first time they said it and it hasn't been convincing for the millionth time.

    Nazis were very far right-wing and I accept that. But it's not a linear concept. It's possible to be far right and not a Nazi. As a matter of fact nobody can be Nazis anymore Nazism was an ideology that could have only been possible for Germans in the particular time period That it came about.

    Sounds an awful lot like the sort of wartime economies noted anti-Communists like Winston Churchill & Robert Menzies put in place. Of course, they were from the European tradition of Conservatism that was perfectly fine with 'big government' as long as it did what they wanted - expand empires, keep workers and non-whites 'in their place' etc.

    Absolute Monarchy & the like were also rather fond of 'big government' & telling people what to do. Are they 'socialism' too?

    Mayhaps your formulation of 'socialism' is a wee bit simplistic & your understanding of Nazism lacking the necessary political & historical context to make the slightest bit of sense. Sadly too many Americans venture into this territory with an excess of confidence & a deficit of knowledge.

    The only people who say Hitler was on the left are those who know no history. None with the most basic knowledge of that era would doubt it. Or have read any of Hitler's speeches or writings.

    It wasn't the right fighting the Condor Legion in Spain.

    And? fratricidal wars among socialist have been in vogue for decades. Socialist have killed more socialist than anyone. Look at the damn policies they espoused that where you find out who they are. Even today the only difference between Europes far right and far left seems to involve limiting social programs to people whose grand parents are born in the country.
