Well gee maybe you can tell us what we were fighting for in Vietnam that was worth all the American and civilian lives not to mention the wasted money.

Most of us were smart enough to realize that there was no good reason for Americans to be dying in Vietnam. And those " drugged out hippies" changed public opinion and ended the war .

    I'll let JFK answer that:

Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty.

That doesn't answer the question. What were we fighting for in Vietnam? If all you got is silly platitudes that have no relevence you aren't much of a spokesperson for the rationality of our Vietnam involvement.

We were fighting against the spread of a malignant ideology called communism.

How has it been proven to be a total fraud? The USSR folded their hand and that was what the cold war was about. You can't make absolute declarations about history without context, the event's place in the overall world condition.

    WRONG.

Those "drugged out hippies" did not end the war, they did cause the USA to fight a poor strategy and to finally abandon South Vietnam. After the USA left, the North Vietnamese communists swept into South Vietnam and murdered 7.5 million people under the new communist rule of re-education camps, displacement, and starvation.

It was all about the draft. Those "drugged out hippies" did not want to be drafted and go to war, which is a feeling I can understand. But don't try to make their motivation for opposing the war into some humanitarian reason, it was simple self-preservation. If there was no draft, its likely there would not have been any protests.

Kids being thoughtful and engaged in public policy issues doesn't mean they should be allowed to cast votes.

Raise the voting age! Institute aptitude tests! After all, as we've seen, voting can be very dangerous and is best left in competent hands. :D

First I want to see young voters 18-21 start consistently showing up at the polls.

16 to vote, 21 to buy a gun.
    Seems like disconnect.

Let's make it 2 years old and lower the age of representatives to 10.

a 16yr is allowed to drive, get married, have children those are adult responsibilities so they should be allowed to vote...and their judgement will be equal to and probably better than many old voters, certainly no worse...

old people over 65 should volunteer to give up the right to vote, their lives are essentially over why control the future that they're no longer going to be a part of ...let the young make the decisions that are going to affect them for the next 50yrs...

and what experience and wisdom has Trump displayed LOL! ...he's lowered the bar for stupidity and lack of integrity that may never be matched, he's a buffoon...the average 16yr would certainly do no worse and likely a lot better.

    LOL

The average 16yr old doesn't have a clue, but thanks for offering your opinion.

I do believe the average 16 year old can be influence by peer pressure and the left's MSM partners to believe the President is stupid, lacks integrity and is a buffoon.

If anything, the voting age ought to be upped back to 21 where it was prior to the 26th amendment.

I'm not 16 or stupid and he is a buffoon. He has no integrity and he is a fantastically shallow person.

Actually he is more a dangerous tyrant in the making than a buffoon. And the former head of the CIA agrees. I don't know why it took him and others so long to catch up with me, but finally they are.

You are complicit in a war against the United States, by defending this traitor. You should try catching up with the 16 year old.

I would raise it to 40 years old, by then one usually builds some life experience and can make the important choices when voting and would weigh the options with some intelligence and logic hopefully.
