The only deal Trump can make is with the devil.

Trump's rottweiler John Bolton is flying a kite for a future failed Trump policy initiative to compel Arab countries to take over US role in Syria.

This demonstrates how incompetent Trump and Bolton are.

The fact that UK and France have not publicly stated that they will take over USA's role in Syria is evident by the news that Trump is pressuring Arab countries to take over the role.

Saudi Arabia is the leading country in that group and they have never fought a war let alone won a war and there is no evidence that they ever could win a war. Saudi Arabia can't even defeat Yemenis armed with sticks and stones.

Egypt is another with no proud record of victory and an inability to pacify their own people. It is inconceivable that Egypt would volunteer to send troops to Syria.

That leaves the stench of a future failed Trump initiative smoldering in a steaming pile.

I think the current borders of most Middle East nations are untenable. And unlike on the past when war would settle such matters, war is now effectively illegal. So they're stuck like that forever.

Of course, it's hard for the West to blame Sykes-Picot for the pickle in the ME too much, because to do so is an admission that different ethnicities and cultures are more difficult to mix than thought, and might invite unwanted criticism of the Wests policies around migration.
