    +1 for Trump. Wise move.

Sessions is so backwards on issues a significant majority of Americans support that he makes Trump look good. What a goon. Hopefully Trump does not change his mind, and keeps making Sessions look like the turd he is.

Even Bohner has changed his mind, to a degree

    Again, smart move.

My #1 beef with Sessions is his absurd stance on marijuana. This is a good move on Trump's part; let the states decide, get the feds out of it.

If pharm companies could patent CBD and THC, there would be no issue. Keeping it illegal creates profits for pharm companies and prisons. It was never about public safety.

I'm pretty sure I saw where the House Rules comitee had blocked an amendment to allow banking in cannabis states.

They can grow it, refine it, and sell it. You know... like they do with numerous other plant compounds.

Its not like a pharma shop couldn't grow some dope and cook it down into hash oil for vapes and pills.

The most dangerous thing about weed is running over another person with your car, for which you should pay, pay and pay!

I’ve never seen weed get behind the wheel.
Leave some weed on your table and let me know how many people it runs over.
Weed doesn’t run over people, people run over people.

Sessions has to do his job which is enforce law. Congress is responsible for making and changing law. They put Session in the position he is in.

Marijuana as a Schedule one drug is ridiculous. Schedule 4 or 5 is more realistic. THC last I heard had zero physical dependency. This should be done.

Congress needs to look at changing Marijuana laws.

    Just my opinion of course.

THC and CBD cannot be patented and developing new strains do not change the basic chemistry. If it would add to their record profits, they would be doing it already.

Weed is pretty much already legal if you're white. My weed man got arrested the other day and he dodged charges because his relatives wouldn't stop annoying the cops with phone calls.

I agree with Sessions that these laws should be enforced, but I also think the laws should be changed per the Constitution. You shouldn't just abandon a law by executive department decision. If the people really want to get rid of these, they should pass laws to change the current marijuana laws. It's improper to simply decide to stop enforcing them based on the whim of the President. I want Constitutional government back.

I agree, except that the way this should be done is by the Congress passing a law getting rid of the old law. Sessions is simply following the law as written. Trump is trying to get rid of a law by executive order, which is improper.

My Congressman (and a dem Congressman from South Florida) have co-sponsored a bill to reclassify Marijuana. It is going nowhere, but is the correct way to do this.

I support Trump on his statement about marijuana. Gotta call it when you see it.

Sessions is completely uneducated on the issue.

Don't worry you'll get smashed by a drunk driver long before someone driving 5 mph runs you over.

First, I do agree that the current marijuana restrictions are over the top. Not sure what they should be, but they are too strict. Second, it should be changed by law, not by executive whim. If there is no change in law, the executive department (aka DOJ) should be enforcing the law. IMHO, if they started enforcing the law, the law would soon have to change. By just using executive whim, the status of marijuana can be easily changed back and forth, with no real consistency. Congress should change the marijuana laws. My congressman, Matt Gaetz, has proposed a bill to reclassify marijuana so that it can be prescribed. It hasn't gotten much traction, but it should be passed.

I believe it’s the FDA and DEA who determine drug schedule. Not sure what the process is but it needs to begin. Marijuana does not meet Schedule 1 criteria.
