Rush carefully studied Saul Alinksy's principles and applied them to his failing broadcasting career and turned it into a major success.

 

No. It captures it succinctly. Take the Comey Memos. We've all seen them now, why were they kept from Congress for a year?

Comey dossier memos indicate briefing of Trump was a setup.

The memos convict Comey in his own words. He quotes himself telling Trump: “I don’t do sneaky things, I don’t leak, I don’t do weasel moves.” Yet Comey turned over four of the memos to his Columbia Law School friend Daniel Richman to be leaked to the New York Times. He is sneaky, he leaks, he does weasel moves.

Four of the memos are marked classified. Comey may have turned over classified information to Richman. The Wall Street Journal reports that the Department of Justice Inspector General is probing Comey’s conduct on this point. Neither the facts nor the law is clear to me on this point. See the excellent columns by Jonathan Turley (the column needs some editing) and Eric Felten.

When he testified before Congress under oath, Comey failed to name Richman. He simply described him as his friend on the faculty at Columbia Law School — the friend to whom he had given a memo to be leaked to the Times and arouse a furor that would lead to the appointment of a Special Counsel. I infer that Richman was not representing Comey at the time that Comey gave him the memos to be leaked to the Times. Why didn’t Comey leak the memo(s) himself?

Is the president entitled to the confidentiality of conversations with the senior officers of his administration? I think he is. Comey does not. Comey is unconstrained by the rules that govern mere mortals.

If it was justified why did trump wait so long and then said he was thinking about the russia thing and all of this didnt matter as he would have fired him anway?

I know that far right wing blogs and talk radio do your thinking for you, but a few facts are in order.

First of all, the Comey memos had nothing to do with the appointment of a Special Counsel.

Trump firing Comey caused that. Trying to deflect Trump's responsibility for his incompetence and poor judgement might feed your resentment, but it won't change reality.

Second, your false construct that the "comey breifing was a setup" is idiotic. The memos memorialize a lot more than the briefing the Comey gave Trump on the FBI (and other intelligence agencies' concerns about the Russians and the Trump campaign).

Third, Trump initiated most of the meetings with Comey that are of concern, not Comey. So saying that Trump reached out to Comey in order for Comey to set Trump up is ridiculous. But it isn't any more ridiculous than many of the other far right wing narratives floating around.

 

What he's trying to say is the Democrats are set to get their asses waxed in November.

 

While I don't put much faith in the media fantasy about the great blue wave, Democrats are going to gain seats in November.

 

There was no reason for him to think about russia while firing him. The way he puts its its clear he figured it might make that go away.

As for comey lying? Not at all, comey said to trump he wasnot personally under investigation , there is no reason for comey to announce who they all arent looking into to.

Don't make it hard to understand, Andy. Ask ANYONE who has ever held a government security clearance whether or not she broke numerous laws involving national security and classified information. The answer is SO obvious, Andy. You can start by asking a simple question: "Was her personal server, on which she received, transmitted, and re-transmitted communications that contained classified information protected by a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) as REQUIRED by national security protocols?"

If the answer is "No", then the FBI investigation could and SHOULD have recommended that she be charged with crime(s) against national security and classified information... period! This isn't nuclear physics, Andy -- it's simple LAW, in place for decades, written down in black and white, and every 'ticket-holder' must swear, annually, to comply with the law... unless you're a Democrat-machine hyperliberal like Hillary Clinton....
