That's a good question. What is conservatism? What does conservatism mean in today's political discourse?

I have often been called a conservative but I have no idea why. Could you define conservatism so I may determine if I indeed am a conservative?

No need for an SJW-style boycott. Easier to just keep your kids out of The Humanities. You know, daycare for the young adult who has emotional problems and learning deficits?

Fully functioning and intellectual unimpaired "Conservatives" and liberals, can simply continue STEMMING :)

The recent Gender Studies grad earns exactly the same (at Starbucks) as a newly minted dentist. In an alternate universe.

No one here is opposed to education. Some of us however, are opposed - for ourselves and our kids - to adult daycare.

Why did they call you a conservative, don't you have introspection?

    I
I'm introspective to a fault at times, but I hate dancing. So if you could give me a short primer on the meaning of the current use of the word "conservative", I will introspect the he'll out of it.

No, I thought I made it clear I hate dancing. But if you are insistent on dancing I think I have some singles in the cookie jar.

I'm guessing you also have no idea of the meaning of "conservative ".

You are the one who said "Scientists care about people, shortsighted moron conservatives don't have that ability." I, and perhaps others, were hoping to get clarification about what you meant by this. Who are the conservatives you speak of? Can they not be scientists? Do they not have the foresight or mental capacity to aspire to be scientists? Which conservatives don't care about people? All of them or just the ones you label as morons?

I've not said something like that doesn't happen. But to say college grads are not educated, meaning all or most of the 1.9M/yr grads, is ridiculous.
It's nothing but RW fake news.

I see. What substance do you have in that post?
It's all as I originally said, nothing but baloney. Likely you have that impression because you get bad info from bad sources.

But you're free to actually substantiate that position of yours.

For I have shown you, refuted, that 1.9M grads/yr are very very very unlikely to be everything you posted in that post.
And then the top 10 majors further show that your point is not very likely at all. Given some in the top 10 are Eng, business, sciences, etc. They would certainly be educated to get degrees in those 10 top majors categories.
If they weren't, they'd not last a year in their jobs.

So, I again, disagree with your opinion. For all you have said in that post and every post since then is your opinion. A badly informed opinion if you actually believe what you posted.

It requires a college education to understand those words.

Good thing my post, which you cut off, wasn't across degrees.
But a college grad vs high school drop out.

Not according to the top 10 majors. Most of the top 10 were in practical areas of employment.

You think it is a BAD idea that nurses and doctors have degrees?

Do you honestly think you can get a job as a doctor without an education? How about a CSI? Journalist? Teacher?

    How do you know??

Admittedly campuses are not the hotbeds of political activity they were in the seventies but there are more older students there these days and more emphasis on getting the job done and the degree finished

It has ALWAYS been a defacto requirement for some

But the ONE thing that the right wing respondents on this thread are missing, because they do not know or appreciate the value of it - is that tertiary education at its best, teaches critical thinking.-

    There are many, many majors.
What percentage of students are in these majors. What does "most" mean?
What is a "practical area of employment"? What is the income v cost of education ratio?
What skills were learned that could not have been learned without expensive education?

Elite education in the United States is fine. But elite top of the mark graduates are not the issue.
