https://www.cnn.com/2018/04/26/politics/ronny-jackson-va-nominee/index.html Do a better job vetting next time and don't pick your candidate to run the ****ing VA based on the fact that he made you look good while talking to the Press about your health. If you ever feel bad about 45, think of how good his associates’ lives would be if he lost and enjoy a little schadenfreude: - Adm Jackson would be up for promotion - instead he’ll head towards retirement - Manafort, Gates and Cohen would be happily taking money from oligarchs - Reince Priebus and Sean Spicer would be running an RNC on the cusp of major 2018 gains - Steve Bannon would be a primary kingmaker with a fully funded outrage machine - Keith Schiller and Hope Hicks would be making good money as top aides to Trump TV - Melania Trump would have returned to a life of lazy luxury, easily ignoring her husband’s myriad affairs - Michael Flynn and Popadopalous would be rich from lobbying for authoritarian governments like Turkey - The Mooch ~~would still be married to his wife and ~~ would have witnessed the birth of their first child - Tom Price would still be a congressman and head of a major committee - Rex Tillerson would still be CEO of Exxon - Gary Cohn would still be at Goldman Sachs - H R McMaster wouldn’t have had to retire And Finally - Donald Trump wouldn’t have to wake up every morning knowing that he will fail in the biggest, most humiliating way possible, as his precious empire crumbles and the presidency he won turns into one of our most humiliating periods since the days of slavery. They made their choices. And they will all end up with nothing.
Admiral Ron was the wrong guy for the job. Obviously not vetted and obviously Trump selected him as a knee jerk reaction.
Jackson and the Trump administration really had no choice here. Jackson was a supremely unqualified candidate for VA without even considering all the recent "bad news", and Trump and his crew really blew this whole crazy episode. Now they should do what has been done for decades, work with Congress on worthy candidates, vet them and then choose one. In this way they will have 100% senate confirmation, as they have had for decades.
He was vetted by the FBI as completely clean and fitness reports by 2 former Presidents who gave him stellar reports. He was smeared by unsubstantiated allegations that were released to tbe public by the Democrats.
So who is Rear Adm. Ronny Jackson -- the doctor serving the executive branch who is in line to be the next VA secretary? Although he has been serving in the Trump administration, Jackson's time as White House physician carries over from previous presidencies. He was tapped to be a physician for the White House during President George W. Bush's tenure in 2006, while Jackson was deployed in Iraq, according to his Navy biography. Then-President Barack Obama appointed Jackson as his own presidential physician, and the role has continued under Trump. He will now face confirmation in the Senate for the VA role. https://www.cnn.com/2018/01/16/politics/doctor-ronny-jackson-trump-exam/index.html So much hatred in their hearts among the anti-Trumpers.
...he was held up in committee by Republicans and he had zero experience being any kind of administrator.
Won't copy your entire post, although it's all good... It's the line above that caught my attention. Imagine a world where Mrs. Clinton won the presidency... While it's obvious she would have been a better president than the current occupant, it's also clear that the R held Congress wouldn't have passed anything she submitted (see Merrick Garland) so by now, the R party would have been ready to add HUGE gains to both houses in 2018, and in a good position to take the presidency (with an actual human being) in 2020 for an 8 year stranglehold on the office. They may have won the battle but I'm pretty sure they've lost the war... Oh, bye Admiral Ronny.... good luck resuming your previous career after your 96 hours of being publicly associated with Trump. EDIT - Would have been classic, if Jackson were on Twitter, that he simply Tweeted "No Thanks" to @RealDonald Trump this AM to withdraw.... Oh Well...
The FBI gave Jackson one of the highest security clearances so either the dem propaganda is right or the FBI is right. Which is it?
What 'reports' on him.......I only heard unconfirmed allegations of him handing out unprescribed pills to staffers and reporters on Obama's Airforce One.......which didn't seem to be a problem until he was nominated by Trump to be the head of the VA
And today you learned that "security clearance" and "qualified to run the VA" are two different things.
It is tragic that the most petty of artificial scandals was used to attack him. This was the attack: 1. He drinks alcohol 2. On flights to the other side of the world, which reverses a person's day-night sleep pattern, he offered White House staff and reporters one sleeping pill if they wanted it For that, despite President Obama and President Trump praising him and recommending promotion, his career was destroyed and he was forced into retirement.
Of course, that allegation is 100% false because he is a doctor and therefore can prescribe pills to anyone. It is IMPOSSIBLE for a doctor to hand out "unprescribed" pills since is doctors who prescribe prescription medication. I wish he had stayed in and Congress had called President Obama and Michelle Obama as a confirmation hearing witnesses to question them about the allegation and, accordingly, ask what pills he gave both of them.
As we have found with Ben Carson, there is a huge difference between being a good doctor and being a good administrator. Carson has admitted he is lost. No use nominating another doctor without any administrative experience as head of the second largest bureaucracy in the government. Bottom line - Trump really sucks at putting together White House staff. He's had to get rid of a majority of his staff already - far more than any President before him.
He was about to go before the committee as is routine. This is about nothing but Democrats obstruction. Sen. Thune was just on noting that in the past SIX presidents only 24 nominations have required a cloture vote. The Democrats have force EIGHTY-EIGHT for Trump nominations.
Fine hold the hearings, question him on that and vote on that. This was about a smear job to obstruct the Trump administration.
