Awesome! Hence the appreciation for a calculus spoof.

I have done a lot of R&D as well, but industrial, not defense. I did work on the launch control for the National Missile Defense program. That was fun but I didn't get to do anything exciting. I was offered and thought about going to Kwajalein atoll for six months but that sounded a little too intense! :D That just a big sand bar in the middle of the ocean!

My all-time favorite song. Played it on the piano a thousand times.

I'm assuming you're fairly young? How did you get into Elton? This all goes back to the early 70s.

The lyrics for Your Song were written by Bernie Taupin when he was just 16 years old. I find that amazing! Bernie has always been a bit of an unsung hero when it comes to Elton John songs. Elton put the music to it, but Taupin is a brilliant lyricist. Without Taupin, Elton wouldn't be Elton. I think he has written some of the best lyrics in all of music - pure poetry!

The building with the roof where he kicked off the moss is still there... :D #20 Denmark Street, in London.

The new rock is horrid, all of them sound the same. Is this what the record companies require? All of them are negative, everyone is depressed, bullets, suicide, etc. LOL

Maybe there is a very large, depressed, semi-suicidal market out there. Music is generally a reflection of the culture.

And it depends on what you mean by rock. I've heard some alternative I really like. For example, my last sb turned me onto this song. I had an immediate ear worm. :D

And I have to like this for its originality. I had a young lady send this to me. I wasn't sure if she wanted to date me or if she wanted to eat me!

Okay the music wears thin in about two minutes but it's a great video. LOL!

These young ladies aren't depressed, suicidal, or shooting bullets, they just want chocolate!!!

    LOL! I love this.

Not rock, a part of my collection of mood music that I use for dates, I like this but find it curious. I've never heard country-western space music before! :D

The Steam Punk genre has produced some unique sounds. It almost hearkens back to barber-shop quartets.

Childish Gambino - This Is America

This song is a commentary on Black society.

This is Africa 3000 years ago and still Africa today. Who is behind it is another question. Last time anything other than a hut that was built by Africans was in Egypt in 1000 BC. What happened to these people who were once creative and builders of a great civilization?
