    That's because a 2" x 4" is really a 1 3/4" x 3 1/2".

The tariffs are on American products sold in Canada. It will hurt maple syrup producers in states like Vermont and Maine. Aren't you embarrassed to be so ignorant about literally the most basic aspect of the conversation? Keep drinking dat disgusting corn syrup, boi.

It's not like we're giving them a certain share of our Uranium. Never heard you say a word about that.

Also, lets not forget all those Demos supporting the tariffs. Even if the Never Trumpers aren't.

Canada. Where are all those people that said they were moving to Canada when Trump won? We have 11 million illegals for those people to take with them.

No, I'm not embarrassed. Neither product I mentioned is produced in Vermont or Maine.

Your are not actually eluding to the idea that Canada supplies Vermont and Maine "Maple Sap" and they produce maple syrup? I don't know about all the ignorance stuff but last I looked Vermont and Maine have Maple trees :roll:

And considerably cheaper then Canadian maple syrup ;)

It's called a "ratio", grade school math. Trade per country divided by population.

Are you still on that? Do you really think that for every $36 US buys from Canada that they should buy $323 from us?

I was just going to let that thought die as I was sure you would figure it out.

Ummm, wtf? You said bilateral trade deficits matter, I ask you to prove it, and you try to explain what a ratio is? Holy moly.

They already apply tariffs on our goods. So because we apply similar rules, they have to apply even BIGGER ones to compensate;) So they don't really want FAIR trade? They want the advantage to keep ****ing us over? And if we say anything that makes us the bad guys? Hmmmmm.

So why do they put tariffs on our goods? Its all good until we can't make anything ourselves. Go ask Venezuela how that worked out for them. Same reason it's disturbing that China is buying up any IPs our companies create here. You have to look at the bigger picture.

I am looking at the bigger picture. You are the one focusing on discreet industries at the expense of the entire country.

    WE or THEY?

There are tariffs on goods, tariffs above a quota, non-tariff restrictions/limitations, etc.

Example; On softwood lumber; The U.S. lost several rulings against Canada, and then, in the spirit of cooperation, and behind close doors, Canada agreed to a few restrictions and limitations, such as; (a tariff above a quota), and said agreement lasted 10 years, and then, Trump re-imposed a tariff, and then, we're back to square one.

We do. We make jets, pharmaceuticals, high tech stuff. We pioneer medicine, design, architecture, and sell those services.

Trumpkins want us to be cobblers, lumberjacks, and coal miners again. Never going to happen and why on earth would we want to?

Yes, but domestically and internationally, he's playing the same game Republicans and Democrats have been playing in political forums, thus, exaggerate, exacerbate, fabricate, twist facts and logic, AND WE ALL KNOW THAT. .
