Mainstream conservatism makes far more sense than rabid trumpery. The former is a coherent theory of governance amenable to the analysis of demonstrable performance, the latter an emotionally-based irrationality that illogically embraces stark contradictory pronouncement spewed by a narcissistic, morally-putrid, messianic national misadventure.

 

I think the fact that you would fear a nationalist pro America agenda and defend globalist “conservatism” proves my point.

 

Mainstream conservatism changes every 20 years. Consider Eisenhower, Nixon, Reagan, and Trump. They have little in common except being mainstream Republicans in their era.

 

Because they come from a lot of sources. This battle has been going on for millennia. Each side waxes and wanes and will continue to do so.

What it means is, even if every Jew in the country packed up and moved to Israel, it wouldn't make an iota of difference in the leftist control of academia, and the entertainment and news media. It would all be exactly the same. And the right would still be losing, just like it is now.

Just because something is a conspiracy doesn’t mean it is crazy or false. I was able to change my mind by acquiring more information. Hopefully you can one day do the same.

 

Well it's the "information" that seems to be lacking. You may have changed your mind, but it wasn't because of new data.

 

One should know that IQ is not the same as wisdom, of foresight or virtually any truly valuable personal quality. It is potential in some areas, particularly technological and complex skills. However, it becomes a sort of illusion when it comes to common sense and people skills. People with little education have become empire builders, such as the founder of Bank of America. People with advanced degrees, such as the PhD who worked for me in the late 70's don't necessarily become useful at all- this particular one was my warehouse janitor. I have a very high IQ (or did as a younger man, mid 99th percentile) and over time I realized it was also a serious handicap, and literally re-programmed myself- which very few people are able to do. IQ can make it difficult to understand in many cases; you can easily over-complicate things.

It also creates a vulnerability to faulty ideology, as clearly demonstrated in the liberal universities.

As the Kettering quote in my footer says- "you can know a great deal and understand nothing."
