Do you think this will work? Will they take the money and run? If he offered you the money not to commit a crime would you take it?

The left truly lives in fantasy land.

Only problem, they force the rest of us to abide by their delusions.

    I say no.

Golly, and to think, there was a time when the promise of achieving success through honest work was a sufficient reward.

Progressives have some of the most bizarre views on humanity. Anticipating failure, and rewarding the delay of it. I'll never get it.

"It is such a fundamental idea behind America that if you work hard, you can get ahead — and you certainly don't live in poverty. But that isn't true today, and it hasn't been true in the country for decades," Hughes said. "I believe that unless we make significant changes today, the income inequality in our country will continue to grow and call into question the very nature of our social contract."

This is a good quote but I don’t see how paying people not to commit crime will work, how about we just arrest the people committing the crime and give the experiment funded by liberal billionaires to everyone left?

    Do you negotiate with terrorists?

    Why democrats?

I don't negotiate with people who commit violence, let alone democrats.

A real problem of violence exists along a line from Bakersfield, Visalia, Fresno, Modesto, Stockton.
    The line is Highway 99
Fresno held title as Murder capitol some years back.

So Stockton looks to creative solutions.
Will personal profit outweigh the urges for violence? Stay turned.

@US Conservative what would you propose?
Ignore it and maybe it will go away?
    More police and jails?

    Anything "creative" like Stockton?.

Oh and if you can't afford to live in Bakersfield,
you live in McFarland, USA good movie although I don't appreciate Costner much.
He was good in this flick and it was a good flick based on a true story.

Today McFarland, California is in a depression, compared to the movie due to
the loss of so much agriculture. There are McFarlands parallel to the 99 for those who can't afford to live off the 99 towns/cities mentioned above. And none of it is Beverly Hills. ;)

It will ever be necessary for you to tell me the situation on the ground.

scrape up the dead long enough in the central valley and get back to me.

Your map is not the territory.

My map is Roy, been to pixley? I bird watch there before lunch.

Ever seen illegals with tire tracks on their torso's, as they drunkenly declair there is no way they could have got there?

As a fan of letterkenny, understand Im serious.

Pontificate from toronto and Im gonna come for you.

    No comprende.
Really I don't understand the above.

    Pixley, sounds vaguely familiar.
Pixley, ah yes, just south of Tulare off the 99
I am involved with some ranch land off the South Fork of the Little Keweah River,
    Three Rivers, California near there.
Have you been to Pixley? How about Three Rivers, up hill from Lemon Cove.

I still think I'm missing your message.

Will you type slowly for me, DEAR? :blowkiss:

Really. I am interested in a more Republican solution to the problem along
highway 99 but, I can't think of one. Appealing to profit motive vs violence may be
cheaper than prosecuting violence too. It just may be the best solution for the
    reality that exists there. Si?
    Sincerely, what is your solution?

    Best Wishes.

Do I have this right? $500 a month if you're just poor, but $1000 a month if you're poor and likely to commit a violent crime. Hmmm... does anyone else see a problem here?

Central coast, Orange County, California, ten minutes south of surf city USA off PCH.
And I own some ranch land I mentioned earlier nearer Pixley.

    "Just the 99?"
The 99 is a string of high violent crime cities and towns. I'm sure there are others.
Profit motive may be cheaper than enforcement, trial with PD and incarceration.

Again, what would a Republican solution for the violence problem along the 99 be?
    Got any ideas?
More enforcement. And prisons. Do tell.
Let's recognize their is a problem. A break down in civil order with violent crimes and murder.

I should hook these Californian's up with the "earn $500 a day for 45 minutes work" people.

They have a lot in common when it comes to reality ;)

How do you define likely to commit violent crime? Do people have to go and commit a violent crime first to be eligible because if so I see a flaw in the system lol.

Pop done the local welfare office and show them a you tube video of you beating up an old women would qualify I guess ;)

I read about this a while back and unfortunately I do see the reasoning behind this.

Sadly this is the probably a cheaper alternative. It costs money to lock folks up in America, a lot of money. Hell it costs more money to house an inmate per month than millions of Americans actually earn per month working. So what is the solution? Society still to this day can't even determine whether or not incarceration even works as a deterrent, even with California's strict 3 strikes policy folks are still committing crimes on a routine basis.

It sickens me, but the state is basically weighing this from a monetary prospective. It costs less money to pay people to behave than it does to punish them for misbehaving.

I know a lot of folks will say well it shouldn't cost so much to house an inmate, we do this to ourselves etc. Well this is America, not Brazil. We aren't going to starve prisoners or deny them medical care or any of the other things we provide that would drive costs down. Unless we start implementing some inhumane practices then the costs to house inmates isn't going down. So this is probably the best alternative we have unfortunately.
