    WHEN WILL PEOPLE LEARN!?!

That's a promising young team, though.

I can see a reenactment of the Battle of Hastings in the 2022 WC Final. Hope you fare better than you did in 1066...

Lucky is more like it getting the luck of the draw in matches.
    Promising nothing.
We had a bunch of easy teams.
The media might be forgiving, but I know better than that.
Gareth Southgate is to winning trophies as Paris Hilton is to a nunnery - They don't mix.

He flopped in the finals against France in Euro '96
His team lost against Croatia, and Belgium, countries so small that before the Euro, they used to put missing kittens on their currency [citation needed]...
    What happens in 2022?
England get Brazil or Argentina or Spain or someone.
**** that, this 2018 team should feel bad.

Luck and sandbagging it against Belgium to get into the weaker half of the draw. I usually root for England in the WC but that really pissed me off. As were talking about earlier in this thread FIFA needs to do something about that.

    HAHAHAHAHA

At least England made it to the Cup, which is more than I can say for our team. The only thing going for USA Soccer are the women. You know you're a total reclamation project when you're replacing your GM and your coach which is what we're doing right now.

We did a genius move like that and we still blew it.
As I said, England had good fortune to have that option...
Blew, wasted, 2022 if England qualify probably won't be so lucky, singing 60 years of hurt come 2026.

Well, you guys ran into a buzz saw named Croatia. They're an outstanding team with arguably the best midfield in the tournament - I said back in June they looked like a team that could wind up in the final and look at them now.

Didn't England field the youngest team in the tournament?

I can't help but think that team will be even better in 2022, regardless of who they draw.

luck of the draw plays a part in this, if we were to take the same teams and repeat the group draws it might have an entirely different outcome as to which teams ultimately ended up in the final match...

That was semi-final against Germany, as far as I remember.

I think England has a very good team, but they need to improve their physical shape if they want to win anything. They can beat anyone in a first time, but become absolutely helpless in a second one. Croats simply overran them.

In the first half, England missed two golden opportunities including Kane's. Croatia had solid defending and they didn't let Kane score a goal, which was why they eventually won. Also I blame the Turkish referee who ignored Croatia's fouls in the first half which were committed close to the penalty area. Kane was taken down by a Croat defender on the left side of the goal, which was ignored or missed. Croatia played dirty against England but the Turkish referee didn't care. Bad refereeing can determine the outcome of a close match.

sad day, poor Croatia dominated game and still lost...an own goal, ref incorrectly awarding a free kick that resulted in a goal, playing catch up on one undeserved goal is tough enough, two is just cruel...Croatia won't care they were clearly better but absolutely should be proud of their effort the entire planet knows who deserved to win...no slight on France that's just the way it goes sometimes...credit France for consistently holding the defensive line on the top penalty box keeping Croatia at bay

I had hoped that the European team was gonna win today.......they certainly outplayed the African team......and received two horrible calls from the globalist refs in the first half........
