The new narrative is trump blew it in Helsinki but that's because the left especially and many people in general thought he should have attacked Putin for alleged interference in our election. Trump went there specifically to hit a real reset button with Russia as opposed to the stupid toy Hillary brought and it looks to me like they got along fine and acted like adults. Maybe these two men can now strike deals that will benefit both our countries and it appears one might have already been made as Russia boost it's oil output.

ST PETERSBURG/DUBAI (Reuters) - Saudi Arabia and Russia are discussing raising OPEC and non-OPEC oil production by some 1 million barrels a day, sources said, weeks after U.S. President Donald Trump complained about artificially high prices.

Riyadh and Moscow are prepared to ease output cuts to calm consumer worries about supply adequacy, their energy ministers said on Friday, with Saudi Arabia’s Khalid al-Falih adding that any such move would be gradual so as not to shock the market."

The left would trade global stability to encourage another cold war.

    That is pathetic.

We must do something about these war mongers.

It's like they wanted Trump to raise Hell and leave on horrible terms. Then they could say he set back relations with Russia and made the world a more dangerous place. Whatever he did they were ready to pounce.

    Pretty much....and pounce they did.

I woke up today to 80 threads started by them accusing Trump of treason and I just had to laugh.

Russia agreed to boost output and I don't think it's a coincidence that Putin is trying to get along with our new president who is a mature adult after dealing with the childlike Obama and crew.

So the new talking point is that Trump was too congenial with Putin...??

I would have preferred to see the reporters ask these two questions...

    1. President Trump, did you ask Putin to give back the 20% of US uranium reserves that Hillary Clinton parlayed to Russia through Canadian channels with lucrative kickback schemes ?

    2. Did you ask Putin to change his stance on Iran after Barack Obama committed to look the other way on Crimea in order to get Putin's support ?

    http://euromaidanpress.com/2015/07/...kraine-to-get-deal-with-iran-illarionov-says/

So the Dems can literally screw the pooch while Trump gets all kinds of grief for just talking with Putin.

This is yet another #WalkAway moment.

Bottom Line: Trump did fine... They talked about many significant international issues.

So, you were caught posting a false narrative, based on old information and you are trying to back-peddle with, "it's Obama's fault". Got it.

Read the OP again and you will see I never stated Russia increased output after the meeting. Your reading comprehension is clouded by your hate.

Trump did exactly what he said he was going to do and that was to take a step forward in mending the horrible relationship with Russia that he inherited from Obama and Hillary.

    Gayle King, CBS This Morning:

"So what are YOU going to do about it? [Russian election meddling]"

SenBen Sasse reply: nothing but cheap, profuse, long-wordedness, worthless hot air

    https://twitter.com/CBSThisMorning/status/1019184911494807554

The swamp republicans, ex-specially Corky and Flakey on their way out, apparently think this is their opportunity to return to globalism and business as usual.

This isn't really criticism that is coming exclusively from the left, Newt Gingrich, Lindsay Graham, Bob Corker, Joe Walsh, Will Hurd, Paul Ryan, Roy Blunt, Pat Roberts, Jerry Moran, Kevin Yoder, Mitch McConnell, John Cornyn, Liz Cheney, Bob Goodlatte, Carlos Curbelo, Marco Rubio and others are right wing politicians, and they all found common ground to criticize how the meeting was handled.

Furthermore, one can be in favor of improving relations with Russia, in favor of meeting with Putin, and still find trouble in how the meeting was handled. When the president meets with Vladimir Putin, and the only thing he has to say in regards to Russia meddling with our election is this: "My people came to me, [Director of National Intelligence] Dan Coats came to me and some others saying they think it's Russia. I have President Putin, he just said it’s not Russia. I will say this, I don’t see any reason why it would be”

That is highly problematic at best. Hell, he did more to criticize Theresa May, Barack Obama, and the US justice department this week than he did Vladimir Putin.. that's not good

Pathetic gymnastics. Your thread title was trying to spin Trump's visit in a positive light by claiming results on oil production ... but those increases and the meetings had ALREADY taken
place BEFORE Trump's Putin Love Dance in Helsinki. Admit it. You are so desperate to kiss Trump's little sphincter that you publicly humiliate yourself to do it.

Here's some blatant propaganda for you: our state run news agency, the ABC, has come out and said "Republicans have come out in with uncharacteristically scathing criticism of Trump over his Helsinki summit..."

On comes Jeff Flake talking ****. Haha. Oh my. Clearly these state Pravda journalists know **** all about the US at the moment.

I'm not saying that Trump handled it well.

    He didn't.

Even I cringed a little bit but its hardly the disaster these people are making it out to be.

It was a minor meeting about nothing important, just touching base.

It will be a great learning experience for Trump in how to handle these types of situations in the future.

Putin is a seasoned master and Trump is the noob here...but nothing was lost of any importance.

I remember Obama being embarrassed a couple of times when he started out also.

Corkey and Flakey are on the way out, tumbling down the hill of can't win squat in November. McCain is still in his grudge match.

I have no doubt Putin spear fishes, but I hardly think he spear phishes.

<Rule 3/4> The link I posted was obviously dated before the meeting which was the culmination of the new in proving relationship.

What did you cringe at? The real meeting was in private. The dog and pony show media circus made me cringe at our media not Trump. He blew them off and yanked their chain and didn't attack Putin in public as they were so desperately hoping he would. Everyone knows Russia tried to disrupt our elections just as everyone knows they spy on us just like we disrupt elections and spy on others. Why cry about it to placate the media sharks circling and hoping to smell blood? Shake hands, start talking and establish an honest relationship where you know what goes on behind the scenes and you find agreement on things that work to the benefit of both countries.

A new relationship with Trump playing the fawning sycophant willing to denigrate a US Marine and our intelligence community in front of the world to gain approval of his "new" Russian Dominatrix. What? Too "nuanced and sophisticated" for you?

Our intelligence community that got us into a war in Iraq that may have been unnecessary? That intelligence community?

Oh, I get it. You're the type of person who calls yourself a Red Sox fan - but starts rooting for the Yankees if the Sox lose a game. Pathetic.

What made me cringe was that he was giving ammunition to the left to attack him with.

I was hoping to see him express American dominance as is his MO at this point.

Let's face it, Russia is basically nothing to us unlike our allies or major trading partners like China so Trump could have really ramped it up.

I understand playing politics but there is really no need to play that game with Russia.

I don't care about him addressing the hacking thing but I did want to see him put America first, which he didn't do.

    Bad optics overall.

Trump has financial/real estate interest in Russia for the present but mostly in the future, so he does kiss ass when he wants something.
