The article says he shot a store owner during a robbery. Was it because the store owner was reaching for a gun? If so, it's still murder but a lower degree of murder, in my opinion, so possibly may warrant a reprieve from the death penalty. If, on the other hand, the robber was not fearing for his life and shot for some other reason (like the storeowner not complying with his demands) then it's cold blooded murder plain and simple. But here's something further complicating this story, one that the media isn't mentioning. I think that happens in very extremely rare instances. But it is so rare that there should be no consideration given to changing policy. Besides, if a man self-educates himself and understands justice, he wants execution as the right and proper thing to happen.
