Belly up to the bar and take a load off, folks! This is the place to get away from it all. Plenty of hot coffee and cold beer  with a little hard stuff for those times ya just gotta have a snort!

Talk about anything EXCEPT politics and we'll all get along just fine. Everybody is welcome here.

Pull up a barstool and join the party.

New place... please be nice and don't stick your gum under the table or burn holes in the bar. If someone is asleep under the pool table, leave 'em alone. They'll move on once they sober up a little. ;)

Question is... where is madam Falena to lock old bar. Still drunk from last night or in jail again?

Me: Here is a really strange fact. On one of the lunar missions, the astronaut who remained in orbit above the moon, reported that he saw a light blink on and off on the surface of the dark side of the moon. He saw it several times on one pass. He informed mission control when he came back in contact and was instructed to record it on the next pass if possible. But he didn't see it again. It remains an unexplained event.

Oh yes, and we already know how to make a functional time machine, or at least effectively so. All we have to do is fly to the nearest black hole and circumnavigate the black hole just beyond the event horizon. Thanks to frame dragging, voila! You have a real time machine. As you exit you will run into yourself entering.

And we know how to travel into the future now. All you have to do is to go really fast. You can travel as far into the future as you wish. You just have to get really close to the speed of light. But you never have to reach it. We know we can travel into the future because we do it. And we have proven it. The time dilation is just too small to be significant at the speeds we can travel. So in a very real sense we are time travelers now.

Foolardi: Says palsy what kinda pep pills you be poppin'.I can use a bag.
Plus any Martian worth their salt know where somes them secret UFO caves
are located out west. Not just Dulce.

Me: Look it up. It's a matter of public record.

As for time travel, that is freshman level physics. Freshman can't do the math for General Relativity, that is normally introduced to upper division students, but they are introduced to the concepts.

Special Relativity - travel into the future by moving at high velocity - can be managed by high school students.

This is cool. If you could traverse the event horizon on a black hole and hit your thrusters, you would change your position in time, but not space. Inside of a black hole, space and time reverse roles.

This is determined by using the Schwarzschild metric.

One more thing: Clocks run slowly in gravity fields. So time on earth is progressing less quickly than time in open space. So if you hover in space for a time and then return to earth, you would find you have traveled backward in time according to earth clocks, as compared to your clocks. But again, the effects are too small to be significant. If you were near a black hole, which has a fantastically strong gravity field, it's another story.

when she defies space and time, the event horizon becomes hell.

A silly premise but a good movie. :D

In that light, because clocks run slowly in gravity fields, if you were to fall into a black hole, observers would see time for you slow down more and more as you got closer and closer to the event horizon. When you were just at the event horizon, the point of no return even for light, time would effectively stop as you are squeezed into a thread - called "spaghettification" - and segmented, torn apart, and be effectively frozen in time in an eternal scream - which is as close to hell as it gets!

Luckily, for you, it would only last an instant. Time for you would be normal. But to an observer you would be frozen in time, virtually forever.

And you would both be correct. It would be virtually eternal, and it would be almost instantaneous. Both things are true. Now try to get your head around that one!!!

    God I love physics. :D

    The new 69 Edition of Smartie's !!!

I like to emphasize the "grille" part.

So for my dinner I am having steamed-at-home dim sum har gao.

    To drink, Fresca.

No booze yet for me now.

Today is my Friday but right now it is my Friday morning.

My 12 hours shift begin in 3 more hours.

Tomorrow morning is my Friday night. I can drink booze then !!

Wow! A lost episode of Dr. Who, written by Douglas Addams. It is an old Tom Baker episode.

Test question: What is the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything?

Correct!!! You are a brother in the nerd.

Now, what is the ultimate question?

PS. Did you ever notice that Mulder, on The X-Files, lived in apartment 42? :D

? Mulder is the guy. Fox Mulder, FBIIIIIIIIIII.

I always like it when I notice some subtle nod in a show or movie, that most people wouldn't get.

Oh, "Is she the one" is the ultimate question? Dunno. Only Zaphod Beeblebrox knows for sure. And then you have to remember which head to ask.
