Black Culture Pathology, What to do?

White(ish) parent of black sons here.

We took a slightly different approach. We made sure our (3) kids were primarily exposed to the conservative, academic/nerdy variety of non-white culture. Those cultures in which it's absolutely normal and usual for kids to be clean-living and studious. We made sure we mixed socially only with people who fit that criteria, or at least mostly people who fit that criteria. Our kids had to know that it was not just possible to live that way, but that it was entirely normal to do so. They had to know that the degenerate culture on the streets around them was nothing to do with them, was completely alien, and that they had zero connection to it.

My point is that as parents of children of colour, I believe we should show them the alternative, and use that as our default setting at home. It's white culture which is the primary source of degeneracy (as it's expressed today, in the west), and it's effects on non-white culture are terrible. Our black ancestors and remaining distant relatives back in motherlands were/are living very different, industrious, noble, clean lives. That's the model we should be giving our kids, not this crappy white-ised version of themselves.

A woman pulled a gun from her glove compartment and shot a carjacker in the head as he drove away in her SUV with her and her two toddlers inside in North Texas.

The incident took place late Wednesday night at a Dallas-area Shell Station, police said, when the suspect, identified as 36-year-old Rickey Wright, approached the vehicle. The mother, Michelle Booker-Hicks, was out of the car paying for gas while her 2- and 4-year old sons sat in the vehicle's back seats, Dallas' Fox 4 reported.

Before she returned from the store, the mother saw a man enter her vehicle and attempt to flee, per CBS 11. But before he drove away, the mother jumped into the back of the car herself.

Booker-Hicks told the man to stop, she told Fox 4, before reaching over to the vehicle's glove compartment and retrieving the gun inside. She fired a single shot to his face, she said.

“I’m not a killer, but I do believe in defending what’s mine,” she told Fox 4. “I hope that woke him up.”

Wright then drove the vehicle off the road, crashing into a utility pole, police said. He was in stable but serious condition Thursday morning, CBS 11 reported, while the mother and two children were unharmed.

Wright was charged with unlawful restraint and unauthorized use of motor vehicle.

Unfortunately you can't give anyone self-respect, the only way is to earn it from yourself- and to do that you have to accept responsibility for yourself across the board.
Trying to give it to a person does more damage than good, as it usually convinces them that you owe it to them.

Moi proposed "mainstreaming". Even social engineered via replacing Welfare with WorkFare for those able to work. WorkFare would come with job training, new - integrated housing and a job. These are all external 'fixes'. Bandaids.

People have to fix themselves.

 

That requires adjusting our interactions so that nothing else works. So long as there is a dodge, an easy way, it will be taken. Of course such an approach would be virtually impossible to sell. The inspiration has to come from inside- no body can gift it to you. Applies to all kinds of people, perhaps more applicable to some groups that others, but in the end this is an individual choice and path in life. Anyone can do it- most will not.

The sad part is that even if you lay out the answers and logic crystal clear- they can't see them.

A mother in Texas was recorded pointing a gun at a teen girl who seemingly tried to get involved in a physical fight involving the woman's daughter.


The video shows two girls physically fighting, with a third girl seemingly attempting to chime in nearby. Chade Lockett, the mother of one of the two girls in the altercation, is seen drawing a handgun and pointing it at the girl, whom she appears to chase after.

The two girls continue to fight and Lockett runs in and tries to break it up, seemingly breaking the girls apart. They continue to fight and pull each other's hair while the mother circles the scene.


The argument stemmed from an issue the girls had on Snapchat, KTRK-TV reported. Lockett told the station the video doesn't tell the whole story, and the weapon was actually her son's toy BB gun.

The woman who recorded the video, Veneisha Jones, said Lockett "pulled a gun out on us. We were frightened for our lives."


Jones told the news outlet that the girls who were fighting were 15 and 13 years old.


"They're both teens, they fight and get into it, that's what teens do," she said, adding that Lovett "had no reason to put her hands on her or anything like that."

"I'm doing what a mother should do, which is protect your child," Lovett told KTRK. "Y'all trying to make it seem like y'all didn't do anything."

Lovett said in a separate interview with KPRC-TV that she only grabbed the gun from her car "when I saw they had knives. It was either the crowbar or the BB gun. I chose the BB gun. It looked realistic. It was 15 of them and two of us."


"I'm going to defend myself and my daughter," Lovett added.


Tracy McIntyre, the grandmother of the other teenager involved in the altercation, reportedly filed a report with the Houston Police Department.
