That's essentially what I wanted at the time. Let the banks fail and there would be entities that would pick up the pieces and build a better system out of the pieces. all the government did was waste almost $900 billions that did nothing to improve the system. The year after this "crisis" was the best year ever for banking executives' bonuses....paid with taxpayer's money.

Oh, yes, and when these banks were allowed to pay these loans back, the Congress deemed those payments as a revenue stream so the money could be spent. In other words the money was wasted.

Well that's what the PC left claimed a few weeks ago. "DOG" is a racist term.

    Who said anything about Democrats?
Trump runs his mouth about illegals, but he's silent about employers hiring them. It doesn't take a rocket science degree to figure out Trump is sitting on his hands.
Link to what? I never said Democrats care, just that Trump is doing nothing. I care, but I'm not a Democrat or a Republican.

The gummit did some of the liquidation thing by the like of selling off Countrywide to Bank of America, but not enough. My point is that you don't destroy company infrastructure--the locations, middle management, employees, etc.

The pain should be shared as much as possible by the shareholders and creditors, not taxpayers.

What about Cruz's ancestry? Shouldn't HE stay on "his" side of the border?

People who vote in primaries tend to vote in actual elections. If you checked out the numbers, Cruz doesn't really have a problem, its more about liberals throwing tons and tons of money at this and a few manufactured polls. Cruz as a candidate and person hasn't done anything to warrant a change. There are no scandals, there is no real reason to demand change in Texas, this is mostly liberal hype and fantasy...

    Its something to worry about

When an election is close democrats can steal 2 or 3 percentage points by winning 110% percent of the deceased vote

Pie-in-the-sky liberals are always looking for their next Pied Piper. Beto comes straight out of central casting for that part.

The fact that he's getting within single-digits of Cruz should be a serious warning sign to Republicans to do better. This is Texas for God's sake. Should be a slam dunk. But even on easy mode, you need to pick someone better than a weasel like Cruz. Trump's trying to jump in and help, but no one is forgetting what Trump actually thinks about Cruz. Might even be better for Trump to stay quiet and not call attention to the fact that he's had far worse to say about Cruz than Beto ever has.

The numbers say otherwise regarding Obama. Look at the economic numbers when he took office in 2009 and when he left in 2017. Look at the numbers of Americans killed and maimed in idiotic wars between 2001 and 2009, then subtract the number killed and maimed ibetween 2009 and 2017. The fact that you don't like the guy means nothing as you are a partisan hack. How many Americans were killed here on our soil by terroeists under Obama? How many were killed under Cheney/Bush? The real numbers don't lie. If Trump can last for 8 years like Obama and the stock market is up 160% and he doesn't start any idiotic wars like the last GOP administration, then you guys can start beating your chests. It isn't even the end of the first quarter yet. They don't give out any prizes late in the first quarter champ. It is still early in the game. Obama finished his two terms and left the country in a hell of a lot better shape than he found it in. Look at the numbers.

One of the more amusing aspect of Carnival's sorry ass being on the line in Texas is that the GOP cavalry charging in to save thoroughly loathes him.

Carnival's role in befouling his Party in the 2013 government shutdown is not forgotten.

We'll see. The polls suggest the race is close. If Trump does something bat sh't crazy, or drops the ball on Hurricane Florence, he could juice the Democratic Party vote.

I think the odds favor Cruz.

Pollsters haven't changed their broken methodology since 2016, remember what they predicted then? Right now there's about a 5-8% liberal oversampling on top of insignificant numbers of respondents. Nov will be a liberal disaster if you look to the polls to determine the outcome...

They were only off by 1% on the popular vote.
If the polls are only offby 1% this time, too, Republicans could easily lose the House.

Popular vote doesn't count, never did, that was just an excuse to cover their massive failure.

How can 1000 people accurately predict over 460 individual races? That's what midterms entail, and that's about the number of people they poll. The polls are manufactured to produce desired results of those paying for them, nothing more, certainly not accuracy...

Nobody likes Cruz. Trump got that one right.

Who can respect a guy who kisses Trump's ring after the Bloviator-in-Chief trashes his wife and says his father was a traitor involved in assassinating President Kennedy? Presidunce Lardbucket as much as said Cruz is a dickless laughingstock.

Besides, Cruz might whine himself to death talking about Heidi and his girls before he completes his term.

The "massive failure" is you thinking they were counting Electors. Polls we get measure national popularity because refining them to the state level is prohibitively expensive. You mistook a parlor game for something serious.
They don't. They're just ballpark estimates based on national surveys. The 2016 Presidential race was seen as a close popular vote by the polls and it was.
Total horsesh't. A lot of the polls are done by marketing research firms and the companies don't want to be wildly off because it would impact their credibility as a polling organization.
