Russia is in Syria fighting Al Qaeda. The Israeli and US governments are protecting Al Qaeda in Syria. Therefore, Russia's involvement in Syria is legitimate, whereas Israeli and US involvement in Syria is malevolent and criminal. Try to understand the difference.

Within 2 weeks, Moscow will supply Syria with it's S-300 missile defense systems. From what I read, Russia did not supply them because they would have been able to cover all of Israel, and could hit the jets the minute they took off. The $400 million deposit given by Assad at the time, was returned.

I don't know what Israel's intent was, but it backfired.​
