Why should it be "complex". You sell your 'cancer test green tea' to your customers, collect data and track them.
    As easy as 1, 2, 3.

Trump beat them all while on an extended family travel adventure with a tiny campaign organization, and without running ads.
IOW, Trump defeated the entire corrupt bipartisan political establishment with ease on pocket change.

What does that have to do with political negotiations?

What "results?" He got 3.6% access to the $16b Canadian dairy market, about a $500m increase. Chicken feed. He got Canada to recognize some drug patents for ten years instead of eight. Canada's share of the North American car production has plenty of room to grow under USMCA.

    Where's the beef?

And once again you sling your bullshit. But I get the condescension. Its a natural offshoot of dunning kruger.

And each time you think trump is a good negotiator, it demonstrates you don't have much experience in large negotiations.

The art of the deal is prehaps the stupidest, personality based how to. If you are a liar, a shameless self promoter with a mob boss mentality you too could negotiate a few deals. It also helps when you have crooked bankers aiding and abetting you.

Diversification is inevitable, but I doubt that we'll take active measures against the US, unless they have another serious brain cramp.

Exactly. It goes back prior to the Obama administration. And the facts remain that a) the tariffs are still in place b) the next time we take the US to dispute resolution will be the SIXTH time. Having one the previous FIVE times.

Keeping up the stream of complaints and reimposing tariffs immediately when the complaint is not legitimate and is solely to protect special interests, is pretty damn sleazy.

Americans are struggling with the loss of their sense of entitlement. Electing Trump was, of course, a manifestation of a collective unwillingness to let go.

Unfortunately the apps wars, like most other consumer product wars, became a feature war. It was like people with bad hearing who insisted on stereo equipment with very low signal to noise ratio because they were told that was best. Useless functionality for the masses but comparable "value".

I was in the thick of the O/S wars. I was one of those application consistent use and feel warriors at a time when the big unix debate was is the C shell a superior command prompt. I recall one of my favorite lines to the Unix weenies was "who cares how to grep lint from your yaac" - to which the weanies would erupt in outrage that that wasn't a logical command - precisely the point.

A few years ago, a friend of mine needed an app to run his small business (sales brokerage). I looked around for him, but couldn't find anything that would do the job without massive changes to his business process, so I learned Access and wrote him an order processing, invoice, inventory and A/R system. Been over a decade running it (on XP) and I've only had a half dozen "service calls" in all that time.
Rather proud of that little effort. Course any pro would take a look at my VB code and my "almost" rationalized database and laugh their arses off - but it worked.

    Ahhh, back in the day.

I am retired as well. I don't golf I "jolf" (jon's golf) which is far more enjoyable for me because I can make up the rules as I go along and have fun walking around in what amounts to a garden. Delight in the hits and laugh at the way more numerous flubs.

No, we didn't say the same thing although we had lots to criticize with those other presidents. Trump is in a class all by hissownself.

I am one voice, but if you were to track Canadian opinion polls, you'd see that I am in the vast majority of Canadians today. Seems Trump has managed to temporarily poison our perceptions of American greatness, let alone its integrity.

And We Canadians are not alone in the world. Seems with the exception of Russia and Kenya the rest of the world has a pretty low opinion of trump's America. Yet another example of trumpian winning, no doubt.

No, the Canadian electorate blew it. If they couldn't see any difference between Stephen Harper and Justin Trudeau then they deserve what they got.

Not a bit. I provided you with a serious way to market a product you apparently like and believe helps prevent or cure cancer.

Why would your research be less credible than any other researchers?

Sadly, the American people don't care what Canadians or Europeans think. They see their economy growing, their security increasing and the world becoming a more peaceful place.

While this may not sit well with many Canadians, Americans are certainly okay with it.

And how has that advanced the world?

Diplomats actually boast that saying nothing is preferred, that everyone having to read between the lines is a good thing. Lies are accepted, expected and encouraged. So a man like Donald Trump, and in fact a woman like Nikki Haley, speaks straight, tells the truth, and is therefore criticized by those who prefer mumbo jumbo and platitudes.

This does not serve the truth, the public or progress.

This is just a hard negotiation tactic, and one that I think trump can be respected for. As a Canadian, I am not so much concerned with the aggressive tactics of Trump, I am concerned with the LACK of tactic from our PM. If Canada wants to compete, we have to compete, and this means being able to negotiate strongly with the USA.

Trump doesn't want to tax cars at 20%. He want's Trudeau to play ball

They see their economy growing, their security DECREASING and the world ain't any more peaceful than it has been for decades.

And I totally get that Americans don't care what their customers think of them. Seems the world's piggy bank doesn't give a crap about anyone but themselves these days. Quite the turnaround for "leader of the free world". I guess some americans truly are okay with that because after all, they got theirs and screw the rest.
