Susan Collins was faking it when she feigned support for an investigation of Christine Ford's allegations against Brett Kavanaugh.

She was always intending to vote for confirmation and just gave the appearance of wavering to divert any loss of support from women.

Susan Collins' characterization of the FBI investigation as thorough is a sham. The investigation was hobbled by Trump.

Brett Kavanaugh has not been cleared, he has been impugned for eternity by the sham investigation and his own hostile extremist partisan rants in the Senate.

I'm no Collins fan, but her speech was amazing. Detailed, specific, rational, and logical. Probably concepts that are foreign to Progressives and New Democratic Party followers.

You should listen to it. Beats taking the word of some hack.

    Or you could read it.

This thread is pure partisan conjecture and opinion. It needs to pack up and move to a proper location where it's not such a blight to the
    intellect.

Which insult to intelligence U.S. citizens are we talking about; leftists who intimated that an accusation IS the evidence or Right of Center people who demanded that there be actual evidence produced for accusations presented?

The entire liberal campaign of smear and lies was directed at moderate republicans like Collins and Lindsay Graham in an attempt to influence their opinions and their vote.

Instead it pissed them off royally.... and you can rest assured that these lies and slander and character assassination of a good hard working jurist pissed off moderate rank and file republicans and independents just as bad as it pissed off their moderate representatives in Senate. Lest we forget how it energized hard-core republicans. It really backfired.

The only sham was Ford. She wrote a fictitious letter to Feinstein and thought it would be sufficient to "Bork" Kavanaugh. Then she wet her pants when she found out she had to tell the phony story to the senate.

The entire Trump Presidency (on a daily basis) has been a continuing "insult to Americans' intelligence".

So, through that prism, Collins' Speech qualifies as business as usual from Trump's GOP.

And, to address the sycophantic gushing (and wild overpraise) coming from Trumpland:

As long as the last sentence of the speech was "I am going to vote Yes to confirm Kavanaugh"--Collins could've read the phone book for 45 minutes and Trump's Echo Chamber would be declaring it the Greatest Speech since the Gettysburg Address.

    LOL.

Lefty be playing a broken record.

They be like: Let's throw out a bunch of rapid-fire allegations, and hope that no one notices that we didn't even attempt to prove any of them.

    Thanks for the laugh.

How should we characterize this assessment? Sour grapes? Butthurt feelings? That feeling of doom that people in an airplane get just before they smash into the earth? The things that bad losers always say?

Collins presented a long, well reasoned and argued case for her vote for Brett Kavanaugh. Since you cannot, or will not, argue her remarks
on their merits we must assume you are not able to.

So instead you simply try to denigrate the whole thing, in a very ironic claim, as pure partisanship. Your post is that very thing you
    attack. Ironic, isn't it.

Man, you guys really aren't taking this very well. I'm sure there's got to be a 1-800# of some sort, counselors are standing by. Hang in there, it'll be okay!

    True.

However, what she said that is causing members of the New Democratic Party to implode was a detailed, step by step, logical and rational presentation of facts and foundational principles of the Constitution and this Nation.

It's understandable that such a thing would frighten Progressives.

There's a reason nether you nor the author of this article even attempted to address anything Collins said in her speech.

Think about that. When you can't produce any counter argument....you resort to baseless insults.

    Today's left leaning voters folks......
