That is so heartless coming from you Fox. =) What happened to your empathy and understanding, hehe? Or were you being sarcastic? But I basically agree. People who stick around when they've had plenty of time to leave, then due to their negligence force tax payers to pay for their rescue while putting others at risk to save them, are not worth saving.
If Breitbart covered thos hearings, would you say that Breitbart reported stories about Bush blowing up the levies?
Getting back power and water in the time frame we did made us one of the lucky ones here. What helped the most was communities working to help each other. No protests were seen. I didn't even see anyone fighting while waiting in line for gas and money. The National Guard set up a mobile desalination plant along the coast near my home to provide clean water to the public. People should just try to remain calm and be creative. Thankfully we had a ton of rain following the storm which we used to shower and wash clothes and dishes.
yep, it made landfall just a little east of Panama City. I'm good here....rain bands and 20 to 40 MPH gusts. still have power, which is weird because it goes out if a squirrel pees on a transmission line.
Is it just me, or is there something really significant missing here? Where's the wind? The north and western eye wall went over Panama City Beach. The wind never got over 50 mph. The vapid weather channel reporters are standing on ocean drive wishing for more violent wind because their on air documentation of the storm isn't living up to the hype. On air reporter mentioned that over by St Joe, where the eastern eye wall wen through that they were just over 70 mph sustained. Again, not even CAT 1 strength. Where's the wind? Highest reported wind gust so far was 106 mph. So, weak cat 2. What happened to 150 MPH sustained? Buehler?? Buehler??
PCB doesn't look anything like Gulfport and Bay St. Louis, Mississippi when Katrina made landfall as a Cat 3, does it? I'm watching the Weather Channel right now and they're calling Michael a Cat 4 but I'm not seeing it, either. This is good news, of course, but I'm a bit bummed that we're probably not going to get the 3-5" of rain they've been forecasting for southern Virginia. Looks like we'll be lucky to get an inch and we need the rain bad...
You're absolutely right. The storm seems, well, over hyped. Which of course is great news for Florida and likely the predicted amounts of rain down stream will underwhelm as well. Sorry you won't get your rain. We were supposed to be inundated today, so far, not a thing. And suddenly it will be winter around here. Was high 80s this weekend. Friday, his is maybe 62. Winter is here....
No, Puerto Ricans don't count, no matter where they live.....who cares if a bunch of Puerto Ricans living in NY or Florida are upset over some hurricane killing a bunch of other Puerto Ricans -- if they were "real" Americans, maybe it would have worked out better for them..#MAGA
Well we are hearing you are having wind 10 mins ago https://www.theguardian.com/us-news...-live-news-updates-florida-evacuations-storm- and here are videos of all kinds of destruction https://twitter.com/WFLAJosh Hoping Webrockk is OK
Maybe it's just more fake news, a massive LW Zionist Globalist MSM lie.....or maybe not. https://weather.com/storms/hurrican...ael-cat4-historic-landfall-gulf-coast-florida
Are you kidding me? Trump is ecstatic that this storm is hitting an area that is 90% White........and voted 75% Republican. Nobody will blame him for how many died, the destruction of property or the FEMA response. The locals will pick up and work together to get through the storm and rebuild........instead of sitting on their asses whining into CNN cameras about ‘where be the FEMA’...........and looting will be minimal.

https://livestormchasing.com/stream/gary.schmitt Interesting live feed just after passing. It's a mess but this is my experience with hurricanes in NW Florida. It's not, outside of the barrier islands, low. So even the 8' surge measured in Apalachicola Bay isn't catastrophic.
Here's a reall good forum if you want to follow weather freaks and pros talk about the storm. https://wxdisco.com/forums/topic/405-2018-major-hurricane-michael-c4-140-mph-927-mb/?page=59
Except not just Puerto Ricans were upset about the devastation Maria caused this island. Clearly it's your opinion that doesn't count.
I have no empathy nor understanding for those who choose to do really stupid things like stay when they have means to leave...NO one should be allowed to rescue them or their damn pets...
Good thing I don't care what you think, it's a non-issue. BTW, did you notice I only spoke for myself... YOU do not know what others care about...
