    This disgraceful event is another of the blatant violations of human rights the Saudis engage in with the consent of Trump administration.

    Mohammed Bin Salman has boasted that Jared Kushner is in his pocket. Kushner has had the begging bowl out to a number of Middle East regimes to get himself out of debt.

    Why is Nikki Haley silent when she professes to care about human rights? Is Haley just a Trump bugle?

    The GOP is making some noise to feign they care about human rights but that won't translate into action.

    It's always a difficult situation. It's like if at the Yalta conference Stalin just pulled out a handgun and shot the waiter. What do you do? Arrest Stalin and have the world descend into Nazism?

    The US has spent so many lives in the Middle East, jt would be reckless to destroy a critical partnership over the death of one.

    I don't know if I'd call 9/11 a hit, more of an attack.

    But yes, he did indeed do 9/11 to increase the value of his NYC property and to smear the good Muslim folks around the world.

    He haa called for stronger defamation law, which I called him out on. To equate this to dismemberment, torture and execution of journalists might potentially at some point in the future be considered by some people as hyperbolic.

    Not sure that letting the world descend into passively accepting murder by one maniac is somehow better than murder at the hands of other maniacs. It shouldn't be "reckless" to condemn murder. If our partnerships depend on overlooking the murder of our country's own residents, then we need to reexamine our partnerships.

    I never would have entered into the alliance in the first place. I'd have fought both Hitler and Stalin to the death no matter the consequences.

    I suppose that means I support removing the Saudi consulate.

    I understand where you are coming from, but keep in mind, FDR had to deal with a 2 front war already with Japan attacking and Germany declaring war. It put us in a precarious position. Precarious but very winnable. The Soviet "alliance" was an alliance more of convenience, although we did support them via Lend Lease.

    Eh, not on the left myself, but no one cheered that. Castro tried grabbing Obama's hand and lifted it up to try to imply solidarity between the two of them and Obama, not wanting to comply but not knowing what to do, let his arm hand there. The controversy beyond that was fake. Everyone paying attention saw it for what it was.
