You have a lot more faith in those guys than I do. If dirt comes up with evidence against Kavanaugh and there is a Democrat in the White House, I would bet that no GOP Senator would ever vote to remove him.

I still believe that Ford lied under oath(well, we know she lied about flying under oath) and she should be immediately prosecuted. But the "sympathetic" bullcrap will keep her out of federal prison.

Further investigation would require showing that Ford was telling the truth and with her story changing at her convenience, that's not likely to happen, so, there will be no further investigation of the Ford claims.

The Democrats are even more partisan than the Republicans. Of course theyll try some kangaroo investigation. Let the house try, theyll never get the votes in the Senate for removal and itll galvanize the right against a blatant attempt of political foot stomping.

The House can certainly investigate(how ironic, the Dems will now take up the seriousness of investigation that the Freedom Caucus did. All the meanwhile, derailing the Freedom Caucus. You know those same Republicans will make the same arguments the Left did against their investigation?)

Of course, it'd be more than welcomed for a bipartisan investigation, but the House typically has less resources than the Senate(And I disagree with this, to be fair. I think the Senate should always share relevant documents with the House. The treatment of the House as a 'smaller' part of Congress, is a major reason IMO for Congressional dysfunction.) .

I do however believe that Justice Kavanaugh will be an effective Justice on the supreme court, and whatever acts he may have committed in the 80's, doesn't reflect on the Justice he is today or the judge he was throughout his career. Also, on a personal note it is hypocritical that women wanted that sex-free society in the 70's/80's and now they want to spring on us as Gatewood said: The puritan society of the 18th century.

I mean, don't get me wrong being a Puritan is what I've been doing for my life, it's just kind of ironic because I'm the guy who normally doesn't get laid.

 

You kidding? The monstrosity in Congress has tried to oppose Trump at every turn. They've spent more time doing that, then they've spent actually governing. They could've passed the Opioids bill for example at any time BEFORE the mid-terms. Wanna know why they're doing it now? For political effect, because they recognize that even the DUMBEST of Americans will not blame Trump for their woeful incompetence, but them.

The same Senate that refused to pass language in a bill that would have authorized border funding. The same Senate that laughably censured the President, and then we were treated to Kavanaugh-gate, and the LOAD of unconfirmed stories(pun in this case, exactly intended.). Fake News? Yep, that's Fake News!

Congress has been a colossal joke, but not because of a lack of opposition to POTUS Trump. It's the opposite: Trump has not truly opposed Congress. Not a SINGLE bill has been vetoed. Go look it up. Not ONE.They could have passed a budget, but they refused to. And their convenient excuse is the 'empty' threat of a President's veto that he's never exercised.

Hell, they passed the unconstitutional sanctions bill, and the President weeped about its illegalities and STILL signed it. This Congress, if it ever realized its leverage could be truly dangerous(or truly spectacular, if they used it for the right reasons. Namely, getting things passed.)

I hate this Congress, with every fiber of my being. Everyone, Republican or Democrat needs to be voted out for a newcomer. That of course never happens, but I would love to see a record freshmen. Many of whom, would actually really support the President's agenda. He only has TWO years left, you can survive that long right? Let's get to 2020 in peace, and then reevaluate the President from there.
