I "notice" an unhinged rant by a guy who admits he has mental issues when it's done in the White House in front of a national audience.

Do you pay attention to the racist rants of Steve King?

How is this any different from the Republicans who can not seem to figure out the difference between a single human cell (zygote) and a baby- and if you disagree .. just shut up and obey.

This is exactly what Goldwater said about the religious right.

"There is no position on which people are so immovable as their religious beliefs. There is no more powerful ally one can claim in a debate than Jesus Christ, or God, or Allah, or whatever one calls this supreme being. But like any powerful weapon, the use of God's name on one's behalf should be used sparingly. The religious factions that are growing throughout our land are not using their religious clout with wisdom. They are trying to force government leaders into following their position 100 percent. If you disagree with these religious groups on a particular moral issue, they complain, they threaten you with a loss of money or votes or both. I'm frankly sick and tired of the political preachers across this country telling me as a citizen that if I want to be a moral person, I must believe in 'A,' 'B,' 'C,' and 'D.' Just who do they think they are? And from where do they presume to claim the right to dictate their moral beliefs to me? And I am even more angry as a legislator who must endure the threats of every religious group who thinks it has some God-granted right to control my vote on every roll call in the Senate. I am warning them today: I will fight them every step of the way if they try to dictate their moral convictions to all Americans in the name of 'conservatism.' "
(1909-1998) US Senator (R-Arizona) Source: Congressional Record, September 16, 1981"

Coming from a supporter of an ideology that would label a Black person who doesn't toe the line a mentally ill non-reading Uncle Tom token Negro, I'd say your opinion doesn't move the needle.

I may be wrong because I cannot think like a black man and I cannot tolerate rap "music," but I have studied human nature.

I am not at all sure that a black rapper with a mental disorder who engaged in a monologue concerning, among other things, his superman, meaning Trump, and a new Air Force One powered by hydrogen is representative of the black man.

Indeed, it certainly is possible that black men and women took offense to West's rambling monologue and resented the man who caused it, namely Trump.

Just another point of view worthy of consideration.

"Kanye West has committed the sin of thinking for himself and that makes him a renegade Negro who is straying off the plantation. In the modern Democratic Party African Americans are not encouraged think for themselves; they are told what to think by the plantation masters in the democratic machine." That is a perfectly ludicrous statement to make. The statement is an obvious reflection of your background and it cements you as a true Trump supporter. Trump has attracted people like you.

Gee, then it certainly makes sense then for members of the New Democratic Party and their media partners, to call Kanye West a non-reading, mentally ill Uncle Tom token Negro. That's just so sympathetic to his condition.

How much longer do you think the New Democratic Party is going to be shooting itself in the foot? There can't be anything left but stumps.

Proof that the democrats want the blacks to toe-the-line and not think for themselves they have black leaders like Sharpton and Jackson. Whites do not have a leader. Asians do not have a leader. Hispanics do not have a leader.

It's not so much a mantra, as it is a fact. Trump was right when he famously said "What do you have to lose?" Inner-city crime under former Democrat control, Lyndon B. Johnson's great society has been a society ravished in poverty and in lost opportunity for millions of Americans.
(To some extent, I do think modernizing Social Security would help, but by and large it's because the great society did NOTHING to help people get jobs back.)

Incidentally, the one similarity between the Reagan/Trump Administrations is how both tackled black unemployment and reduced black unemployment. Democrats can hardly claim as strong a record as Republicans on black unemployment and jobs.

The shift would change if Republicans note that fact: "Hey look, more of you guys and especially more minorities have jobs now than under Democratic rule. Also, we're also against affirmative action and special programs too"

He is a man with a mental disorder.

You sound like a typical Trump fan. Trump would be proud of you.

"Gee, then it certainly makes sense then for members of the New Democratic Party and their media partners, to call Kanye West a non-reading, mentally ill Uncle Tom token Negro." Trump invited him to the Oval Office. So far as I know, the Democrats haven't invited him anywhere.

Do I have this right? You are blaming the Democrats for Trump's poor judgement? Trump invited the "non-reading, mentally ill Uncle Tom token Negro" to the White House.

What's your evidence that he has a mental disorder? Is it the same mental order that Khrushchev talked about when he said:

"There is no one in the Soviet Union who disagrees with the CPSU and the Soviet communist system, there are only the mentally ill."

Or is the same mental disorder that Stalin talked about: "Dissidents are mentally ill."?

Kanye West has revealed that he was diagnosed with a “mental condition” at the age of 39, and considers it a “superpower” that apparently helps fuel his creativity.

West, 40, talked about his diagnosis in an interview with radio personality Big Boy after debuting his new album, “Ye,” at a listening party in Wyoming’s Jackson Hole on Thursday.

“I had never been diagnosed until I was like 39 years old,” the rapper said, clarifying that he was “diagnosed with a mental condition.” But “like I said on the album,” he added, “it’s not a disability, it’s a superpower.”

The rapper didn’t name the condition, but he has referred to bipolar disorder on “Ye.” The artwork for the album also features a photo of mountains, with a hand-written scrawl reading: “I hate being bipolar it’s awesome.”

We have lost sight of the backdrop of West's rambling monologue in the Oval Office. Of course, Trump supporters do not wish to be reminded of the circumstances surrounding this photo op.

Retired with plenty of time on my hands, I have become a news junkie. Beginning with last weekend I was able to watch the development of Hurricane Michael. We knew it was going to be bad and on Wednesday I watched Michael as it slammed into the Florida panhandle as a Cat. 4 hurricane. News crews couldn't cover the damage until Thursday.

On Thursday I saw the destruction. Whole communities gone. Parts of the panhandle looked like they had been the victim of an atomic bomb. Homes gone. People lost everything except the clothes on their back. No electricity and no running water. No communication. Roads and highways impassable dead. Six dead, but that would climb. Now the death toll is 19, but that figure is 12 hours old and probably more are dead now.

It was one the worst catastrophes I have ever seen in my life, worse than the hurricanes last year and far worse than Florence. In my experience the only thing that rivals it was 9/11, which, of course, was far worse.

Then the network I was watching ran some ads and switched to this scene.

I was stunned. I literally could not believe what I was seeing. The shock wore off and I got really pissed. I have a hard time accepting that this narcissistic sociopath is our President, and the bizarre scene in the Oval Office in light of what was happening in Florida was difficult to comprehend. It was literally unbelievable, even for Trump.

Anyone who thinks Kanye West's rambling monologue with Trump listening intently to the praise being heaped upon him is simply fooling himself. This discourse was abnormal ... in the extreme.

It doesn't look like the endorsement helped him at all, after all, she has accumulated nine figures in real estate holdings writing and performing songs about her poor choices in men.

Taylor Swift Should Put Her Tax Money Where Her Mouth Is.

Why claim residency in Tennessee, especially if, in Taylor Swift’s words, red-state policies don’t represent ‘MY Tennessee values?’

State residency determines where one pays state income taxes, and Swift’s near nine-figure real estate holdings across the globe are quite revealing. Swift owns two properties in Tennessee. She also owns three properties on one block in New York City, valued at $50 million, and pays $40,000 per month to rent a fourth, as well as one in Los Angeles, one in Rhode Island, and one in London. She was even chosen by New York City’s official marketing and tourism organization as its “global welcome ambassador” from 2014-2015 to coincide with her 1989 song, “Welcome to New York.”

She also moved to New York City in March 2014, the same month she unequivocally called Nashville “home” in an interview with Time.

A big deal was made of Swift’s move to New York. She graced the cover of Rolling Stone as the feature piece symbolized her new life as a “reinvention,” transitioning from country to pop, moving to the Big Apple, and embracing a more mature, grown-up style. Swift gushed on “Good Morning America” in October 2014:

But did Swift really move to New York, why is Swift voting in Tennessee in 2018?

What do New York, California, and Rhode Island have in common? Aside from being blue states, they all have very high state income taxes, especially for the highest brackets. What does Tennessee have? No state income tax, except a shrinking 3 percent interest and dividend income tax (phasing out in 2021) — which I’m guessing does affect Swift, but not to the extent New York’s 8.82 percent, California’s 13.3 percent, or Rhode Island’s 5.99 percent income tax would. The only reason the overall tax burden isn’t very high in Tennessee is because it is a red state.

On top of New York state’s income tax, New York City also has a special resident tax of 3.876 percent, and both California and New York have higher capital gains taxes than most states.

New York is known for its notoriously onerous Department of Taxation and Finance, which will hunt you down if it even has the smallest suspicion that you are a resident by their definition. It doesn’t matter if Nashville is really Swift’s home in her heart.

Rush Limbaugh, who actually made more than Swift in 2018, was audited for 12 tax years when he owned an apartment in New York City, but lived in Florida and was present in New York for 0 to 20 days a year. He finally left New York for good and sold his apartment when already high taxes were raised in the city in 2009.

Back to the queen of pop. The question still remains, Why claim residency in Tennessee, especially if, in Swift’s words, Blackburn doesn’t represent “MY Tennessee values?”

And what about Swift’s principles? The other hypocrisy lies in not supporting the policies and people that blue states like California and New York welcome with open arms. Both have the highest number of illegal immigrants and many so-called sanctuary cities. Both have budgets that are crumbling under the weight of very generous welfare policies and public pension funds (including tax-free public pensions in New York).

Other liberal policies include gay marriage, LGBTQ accommodations, higher minimum wages, progressive tax brackets versus flat taxes, and countless others. Swift could also support female politicians who align with her views if she moved to a blue state, such as Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) or Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.).

In some ways, you really can’t fault Swift. She did what most athletes, Hollywood liberals, and politicians do. They talk a big game when it comes to paying their fair share and wanting to pay more in taxes. But when it comes down to it, some pro athletes claim residency in Florida and Texas, also non-income tax states. Derek Jeter and Tiger Woods come to mind.

Hollywood liberals cross the border (no, not that one) and buy a place in Nevada. Another popular option is Wyoming. Ever been to Jackson Hole? It used to be nothing. Now real estate prices are through the roof. It’s simple supply and demand economics.

The real question is if Donald Trump has the African American and Mexican vote.

If he does, he has another four more years. If he doesn't, it's all over.

Yeah, pretty funny how that works. Have you ever noticed that the polls generally favor liberals until it gets in the three week period before the elections and then they "tighten up"? Kinda weird how that happens.

He did good with Hispanics in Florida and is doing much better with African American's but I can't see him getting many of the Mexicans to support him. I work with both Africans and Mexicans and many of the Mexicans recently started buying Nike stuff after the Collin Kappernack controversy started. I talk to them about things and they seem to not like Trump and sometimes they get weird when we discuss illegals as if they may be illegal. I even had one tell me American money is worth a lot in Mexico and he was only here to get rich and then go back to Mexico, the country he said he loves. Mexicans love open borders so they will probably not side with Trump much more then they did in the last election. African Americans are however coming around and I have talked to several who now support and like Trump a lot.

My question is can the Democrats win on only Mexicans and their shrinking member base? During the last election ten million Democrats chose not to vote and now we have the #WalkAway movement with over 200k members, most of them former Democrats who have abandoned the party. They are losing voters and as for Mexicans they mostly populate only a handful of states in such large numbers to really make a difference although they did help flip Colorado in the last election for the Democrats even though some counties like Pueblo who had a massive Democratic registered voter advantage ended up voting heavily for Trump. Time will tell how things play out but Trump has a good chance of being elected again.
