COCAINE MITCH WEIGHS IN: How McConnell finally came around on Trump: ‘I look at the results.’

Just two years ago, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell was looking for a way to defeat Donald Trump in the Republican presidential primary, and told colleagues they would “drop him like a hot rock” if the flamboyant real estate mogul won the nomination.

Two years later, McConnell is impressed with Trump’s results, which include ushering in the most important Republican initiatives in a generation, and shifting the Supreme Court in a conservative direction for the first time in decades.

“This Congress has been the best two years of my time here,” McConnell told the Washington Examiner in a Capitol interview before the Senate left town to campaign ahead of the Nov. 6 election.
He does look like he’s having fun.

These are not "Trump's picks," they are the Federalist Society's picks.... But whatever, Trump's cult of nimrod followers think everything the government does is because Trump himself personally does it, except the bad stuff of course which they all blame on the totally out-of-power Democrats. It's the blind leading the blind with them.

Well, he's certainly whipping your asses.

“I look at the results,” Cocaine Mitch said.

Trump’s presidency has helped McConnell seal his legacy as the Senate GOP leader who confirmed two Supreme Court justices and a record number of lower court judges. That list includes 29 appointees to the powerful appeals courts, with more likely to come later this year.

McConnell also presided over passage of the first major tax overhaul in three decades, which included the GOP’s long-sought reduction in corporate, small business, and individual tax rates.

Republicans accomplished a third GOP priority by eliminating 18 government regulations they considered unnecessary or burdensome, by dusting off the rarely used Congressional Review Act. And they eliminated part of an Obama-era financial regulation law to help resuscitate small banks and credit unions.

Trump, McConnell pointed out, helped accomplish all of those victories both before and after taking office.

“He liked most of what was a traditional Republican agenda, has been supportive of that, and advocated much of it during the election,” McConnell said.

Thread up on McConnell ... "I look at the results" is what Mitch is quoted saying about Trump's presidency. You think conservatives care whether the conservative appointees are hand picked by Trump? Appointments go MUCH smoother when they're not. No talk of impeaching these appointees either.

This gives them more time to preach to their choir base about how Republicans are trying to return to white power, support rapist and hate women.

Former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg re-registers as a Democrat.....

Former New York City Mayor and billionaire Michael Bloomberg announced Wednesday that he has officially re-registered as a Democrat, in what some see as a possible signal of his interest in a presidential bid......snip~

    http://www.politicalforum.com/index...-bloomberg-re-registers-as-a-democrat.543609/

CNN Poll: More see Trump win likely as Biden leads crowded Democratic field

Americans are becoming more likely to think President Donald Trump will win a second term in office, while Joe Biden stands atop a crowded field of Democrats perhaps looking to replace him, according to a new CNN Poll conducted by SSRS.

In the race for the Democratic nomination to face Trump, former Vice President Biden leads a massive potential field. The poll asked Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents to choose their preferred presidential nominee among 16 possible candidates. Biden tops the list with 33% support, followed by independent Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, the 2016 runner-up, at 13%. Sen. Kamala Harris of California follows at 9%, with Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts at 8%. Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey and 2004 Democratic nominee John Kerry garnered5% support.....snip~

On a side note.....I don't think anyone that was the Mayor of NY ever went on to win a Presidency.

Well DIFI, got all upset that Trump wouldn't listen to her about the 3 Judges he is getting appointed to the 9th. Had to get out in front of the cameras and play victim and all that.

Guess she thought they would still honor her blue slips.

Schumer was like I don't care we got to get people home and campaigning.

Yeah ... it's awesome. Who'da guessed Difi's political suicide would become the new DNC Jonestown kool-aid gala. 'Course Jimmy Jones was one of California (D)'s "mover's and shaker's" ... Lovely tribute really.

Democratic senators in deep red states of Montana, Indiana, Missouri and West Virginia are either tied or within the margin of error. Staying in Washington lets the Republican challengers more time to work on beating the incumbents. If the democrats are going to have an outside chance of taking the senate this November, they must keep all four of the states I mentioned above. This is self preservation at work.

Keeping seats in the senate has replaced delaying confirmation of judges as the Democrats top priority. Who gets confirmed, they don't care. They just want to keep those seats.

I think Biden and Bloomberg are running interference.

The dems will run a woman or a minority-preferably both.

I get it. Im pointing out that dems are more concerned with their own elections over these judges which actually have more of an impact.

They did get their base all frothy over Kavanaugh, but does their base realize it was the less important fight for them?

I keep trying to find new polls on those states since the Kavanaugh hearings and vote. None to be had. It would be interesting to see if those Democratic senators nay votes changed the dynamics of the races. Manchin is excluded because he voted AYE.

I think conservatives do care because this deal with the devil Trump is going to have consequences for years after his not-soon-enough departure.

Yup. The polls were being published like clockwork and suddenly dried up.

What do you make of that? You think they suddenly stopped polling? Or, are they reluctant to publish them?

    PEGGY NOONAN:

A word on the destructive theatrics we now see gripping parts of the Democratic Party. The howling and screeching that interrupted the hearings and the voting, the people who clawed on the door of the court, the ones who chased senators through the halls and screamed at them in elevators, who surrounded and harassed one at dinner with his wife, who disrupted and brought an air of chaos, who attempted to thwart democratic processes so that the people could not listen and make their judgments:

Do you know how that sounded to normal people, Republican and Democratic and unaffiliated? It sounded demonic. It didn’t sound like “the resistance” or #MeToo. It sounded like the shrieking in the background of an old audiotape of an exorcism.

Democratic leaders should stand up to the screamers. They haven’t, because they’re afraid of them. But things like this spread and deepen.

Stand up to your base. It’s leading you nowhere good. And you know it.

    Indeed.
