Maybe the choice of the word "overthrow" was not the most inspired choice. He could have said "get rid of". But even your own definition includes "remove (from office/power)".

It makes it one where two states don’t control how the government runs for the other 48. It’s a decent system. These are the United States, so all the states should get a say, hence the electoral college.

In America we replace a president by voting. Baldwin doesn't seem to understand that. If you don't like the way the public voted, then spend the time convincing it to vote for someone else next time. Whining about it and threatening is how third world countries do it.
