I can understand that. I don't bear heat, so I tend to avoid the southern part of the country the summer, and it's at summer I have mostly time to visit things. I can hardly enjoy anything with too hot weather. I think however that France is safer than a lot of other countries. Terrorism is really a big problem, we have a high homicide rate for an european country, but very low compared to a lot of other places in the world.
If you mean white south african no, if you mean a lot of people of african origin, yes. It depend too of cities and some regions.

When I was stationed in Germany a while back, I took leave and went to France for 3 days. I enjoyed my time there. We stayed in Nice. The weather was great the first two days, and ugly on the last day. We never ran into any trouble with the population there.
Quite often. I would says that they're 30 to 40 % of the population of where I live for both arabs and subsaharian african looking people. Then it depend of the districts, in some, they're 70 % of the population, in other 10%. Some of them are my friends too. The big problem isn't the colour of skin of people (and it has to be remembered that you can be black and an ethnic french if you come from the french caraibs or la Reunion, for instance Teddy Rinner, Patrice Quarteron, Laura Flessel are from french caraibs), but the fact that there were such massive migration in so few years. Every place around the world tend to slowly loose their culture, but mass migration tend to completely achieve this. The whole religion of islam tend to be problematic too and all the division mass migration caused... I think today that there is almost no union among the french people.

We never know, and I don't know either for my white or black friends. I don't know even for myself if put in some situation I would have the right behaviour or let just panick and fear win. I hope that the honourable way would win. I don't choose my friends for their colour of skin, I however like to have friends with a lot of knowledge. There is more and more mixed unions, I see more and more babies who are in this situations in the streets, among my friends or my family. That's a good thing. I think that the union of the french nation is one of the most important things. A deep culture too, that last point is problematic. My view on France is quite simple, I would gladly isolate France from the rest of the world for one or two centuries, the time people mix up, our culture to deepen. And that's how islam is a problem, not only I totally disappreciate the text for their deep violence, but muslims prefer to marry other muslims, this way, they weaken the unity of the nation by creating a form of parralel society. There is a lot of arabs becoming athee however, that's quite a good news.
Funny thread. People dream what they will do if they have a lot of money. Napoleon was a fool. He maybe improved the legal system of France, but in the end he caused the death of millions of young french people, and we had alreay lost too many people in the revolution. After he was out, France was a second zone country. As far as I know Napoleon didn't cared that much about racial purity, he was a megalomaniac who wanted to rule the world.
I read somewhere that Hitler drew inspiration from Napoleon exactly and wanted to have a Reich like his. That's why he attacked Russia. To finished what Napoleon started.
They were alike, but Napoleon was on some ways more pragmatic than Hitler. He brought back slavery in France not because he had something against black people but because it would allow him to get back some territories. Napoleon didn't cared a lot about races, one of his favourite general, Dumas, was half black. Hitler was more ideological, even if at the end they were both megalomaniac crazy people who caused millions of death.
