no, the Cherokee nation said the DNA test proves linage, not that she is a member of the tribe, both can be true, she is not trying to prove she is a member of the tribe, just that she has native American heritage like her family told her growing up

I watched the study done on PBS but am not persuaded the "We all came from Africa spiel is accurate." How could one mans theory become so accepted by some of us, but not all of us?

Africa as the source of Denisovan or the Neanderthals sounds silly to me. They originated in Asia or Europe. Not in Africa.

HER DNA test says "strong evidence". Nothing conclusive.

The Cherokee Nation says she is not Cherokee.....yet she published this: Elizabeth Warren-CHEROKEE.

Seems like a lie to me.

Calling Warren an Indian based on her DNA results is like calling me a millionaire because I have 1/10,000th of a million dollars in the bank.

Yeh, but the Cherokee Nation itself says her DNA test result is "useless to determine tribal membership"!
    Link: https://www.foxnews.com/politics/ch...-test-useless-to-determine-tribal-citizenship

Using the most favorable timeline (for her) consistent with her 'DNA test results', I've calculated that this 'ancestor' impregnated her Indian ancestor in approximately the year 1739.

But, in the year 1739, the area of the country we call "Oklahoma" today was in the Spanish Empire, but there is no record of even any Spanish outposts anywhere in the "Oklahoma" area back then. Any White Europeans wandering around in these Indian territories way back then probably would have been more concerned with keeping from being scalped than 'impregnating' anybody....

Hint: the Lewis and Clark Expedition didn't even occur until 67 years after THAT! :omg:

NBC played the vid quoting Trump this evening: "If she can prove she's an Indian . . . "

Since the test did not prove she's an Indian, and she's not qualified to be a member of any tribe, Donald J. Trump prevails again and is not on the hook for a million.

Actually, there is no such thing as Native Americans. There is no physical record showing homo sapiens evolved in North America.

You really just can't read their statement can you

“Using a DNA test to lay claim to any connection to the Cherokee Nation or any tribal nation, even vaguely, is inappropriate and wrong,“ said Cherokee Nation Secretary of State Chuck Hoskin Jr.

The lie is she is not native American. She lied when she claimed she was since no legal definition on the planet labels her a Native American.

Answer me this @arborville, since the average white American is more Native American than she is are you ready to claim all white Americans can now call themselves Native American?

she is doing no such thing, she is using the dna test to prove her native American heritage which she has done via this DNA test, she is not claiming association to the tribe

“Sovereign tribal nations set their own legal requirements for citizenship, and while DNA tests can be used to determine lineage, such as paternity to an individual, it is not evidence for tribal affiliation,” the Cherokee Nation’s Secretary of State Chuck Hoskin Jr. said."

they can set all their own legal requirements they want for becomming a member of their tribe, but the DNA evidence speaks for itself, she does have native American ancestry in her DNA

if this was bones from a burial site, you can bet the dna proof would be all the tribe needed to demand claim to those bones, funny how that works

She never claimed she was An Indian she claimed she had Native American heritage, which she has. Her parents told her that was Cherokee so that was what she claimed. Seems reasonable to me and I'm a 1/4 blood.

Show me where in the DNA test it conclusively says she has a native american ancestor.

Go ahead fresh air since you cannot admit the truth, point to where the DNA test says that conclusively.

Using the same logic, ANY living human today can claim African heritage! All of us can trace our ancestors back to Black Africans many years ago -- so maybe I should go raise hell with the government and claim my 'Affirmative Action' benefits as someone with a MINORITY heritage!

She was claiming it because that's what her family told her. She believed it to be true and it appears that in part it is.

So essentially she hasn't got any more of a native-american ancestry than most U.S. citizens and actually quite a bit less than most of our citizens. Ironically I am mostly an Italian-American by the majority of my ancestry and look it; but in regards to the other aspects of my ancestry even I have more Native-American blood running though my veins than the Left's Fauxahontas has got. That's amusing as hell.
