That’s incorrect. No president before Nixon released theirs. More presidents haven’t released their taxes than have.

It appears, every American of European descent has Native American DNA... why is Pocahontas so special?

Cherokees have disowned their favorite daughter... shame on them!

Trump is the first president in many categories but not in this one. You're mistaken, councilor :juggle:

No, should not be. But then, when Pocahontas made the claim she's part Cherokee, she did not say she's only 1/1024 part Cherokee... did she?

She looks beautiful with a feather in her hair, does not she? I say, she must campaign in her Cherokee headdress. She can buy it in any trading post (souvenir store) :)

This reminds me of when Randy Marsh from South Park found out that he had Neanderthal blood. I now truly understand why both Warren and Marsh feel they are so oppressed and why Harvard made it a point to declare her a "person of color."

The average white person in America is .18% Native American. Warren is .09% to 1.5% native American.

My Pembroke Welsh Corgi is probably more native American than Pocahontas... what an embarrassment this is turning into :)

Harvard not only used her as a woman of color but she cried about the bigotry against her parents.

Only if "...it showed you are an Indian." The test results don't show that, only that she has barely any Native American ancestry.

The original promise " “I’m going to get one of those little [DNA testing] kits and in the middle of the debate, when she proclaims she’s of Indian heritage … ‚” Trump said. “And we will say, ‘I will give you a million dollars to your favorite charity, paid for by Trump, if you take the test and it shows you’re an Indian."

^ Well written article outlining how she lied and when with citations.

TLDR: She claimed cherokee status, the cherokee says she don't have no cherokee in her. So does the test, the native blood there is SOUTH AMERICAN. She lied. What's more the original promise was to pay out if the test "shows you're an indian".
The test does not in fact show that, she has less native blood in her than the average white person ffs.

This isn't defending Trump, this is excoriating warren for using redface to get ahead.

yeah, Trump is not a man of his word, have to agree with you there

Trump is the kinda guy if he wins a bet, he screams it from the mountain top to feed his ego, when he loses he refuses to pay - he could prove me wrong... but doubt it

Well let's quote from your cite

"Since Warren's original claim to Native American ancestry was that her great, great grandmother Sara was "part" Native American, that raises the likelihood that she's in the 1/512 range.

This is almost exactly the same as the average white American's composition of Native American ancestry. One out of 512 is 0.19 percent. The average white American's is 0.18 percent, according to Sam Morningstar, who has an authoritative-looking piece on Quora about how Native American ancestry works in the U.S. and the fact that it's frankly, among whites, quite rare. The 0.18 percent average, he notes, is easily misleading, given that most white Americans have utterly no Native American ancestry in them, and a small number have much more............

    ....
Given the potential buddy factor, one wonders how she'd do in a blind DNA test from Ancestry.com, the kind Trump said he'd like to throw her at a presidential debate. Howie Carr suspects she already had taken that and didn't like the result, which would explain why she has been so silent as Trump has had his fun.

It's funny because, well, she's so white-bread in appearance, much more than most other whites. And her tomato-mayonnaise choice of recipes for a Native American recipe book called Pow Wow Chow, apparently taken from some other publication, couldn't have been more whitey-white, either. Howie Carr exposed that one, too.

What's not funny is that Warren is charged with using that utterly tenuous claim to Indian blood to get a leg up on other applicants for law positions at competitive universities.

Warren was touted in recruitment literature for her Native American heritage by Harvard and Penn, while Fordham Law Review hailed her as Harvard Law's "first woman of color," something she never tried to disabuse the university of at the time as the former house-flipper bit and clawed her way to the top.

She liked the leg up on other white applicants, and never mind that she displaced a genuine Native American from the affirmative action slot. Can a white guy with 1/512 African-American blood now be able to claim that black affirmative action law professor slot now, Liz?

    How so?

"The inherent imprecision of the six-page DNA analysis could provide fodder for Warren’s critics. If her great-great-great-grandmother was Native American, that puts her at 1/32nd American Indian. But the report includes the possibility that she’s just 1/1024th Native American if the ancestor is 10 generations back."
    https://www.bostonglobe.com/news/po...rican-issue/YEUaGzsefB0gPBe2AbmSVO/story.html

She is not Native American, she is not a minority, she is not a woman of color. She has fewer genome parts that MAY indicate an unclassified native american, they had to use substitute DNA and then make a assumptions, in her past than the average American.

And this was like her first television campaign ad. Very odd, perhaps she's going for the sympathy vote.
