Thank you for your concession. I see you have nothing to add. I bet you can't find the source of the graphic. LOL
I love how CNN's article commits such self ownage. Here's there list of "countries with fewest guns" they listed. Beside it I put their homicide rate per 100k. Tunisia : 1.7 per 100k East Timor: 11.7 per 100k Soloman Islands: 1.5 per 100k Ghana: 11.6 per 100k Ethiopia: 19.3 per 100k Singapore: 0.5 per 100k Indonesia: 8.9 per 100k Eritrea: 15.9 per 100k Fiji: 0.7 per 100k Bangladesh: 2.3 per 100k Fully half of the countries with the "fewest firearms in the world" have rates that are anywhere from 2-5 times higher in homicide than the US. Then they have a little map that shows how effective gun control is in Mexico, Central, and South America. Well done CNN.
Yes what is quite clear is it is not about the level of gun ownership that is associated with gun deaths. You can have high gun ownership and low gun deaths. But you must be a developed country with strict gun control to have low gun deaths. That is crystal clear.
This has some great graphs and of course all the original reference material https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_violence_in_the_United_States
Yeah but I always appreciate the irony of using an anti-gun poster's own source against them, especially when it's a leftist source. It's like they don't even bother reading the garbage before they claim it supports their argument. Of course, there's always the Occam's Razor reason why they use them, but saying it would get me a demerit.
I don't see how they get the 25 for the developed countries as a whole. We do have 25 times the homicide rate of South Korea, Japan, Spain, Hungary, Germany, Norway and Czech Republic, but have less than that for the other 14 countries. I claim bogus stats unless that discrepancy is explained. (we only have 7.x times the rate of Canada, and Portugal, for example). The numbers just don't add up.
Really, is that why Israel is arming up their population and removing restrictions on gun possession? More than half a million Israelis have become eligible to receive gun permits under a major reform of the country’s firearms rules, with the stated goal of improving the immediate response to terror attacks. https://www.timesofisrael.com/hundr...sraelis-okayed-to-carry-guns-under-new-rules/
Or a country that doesn't share an open border with the most violent countries on earth. I'm sure that's just a coincidence.
