The Cherokee Nation called Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s DNA test to prove her Native American ancestry “inappropriate and wrong” in a statement Monday.

“Sovereign tribal nations set their own legal requirements for citizenship, and while DNA tests can be used to determine lineage, such as paternity to an individual, it is not evidence for tribal affiliation,” the Cherokee Nation’s Secretary of State Chuck Hoskin Jr. said. “Using a DNA test to lay claim to any connection to the Cherokee Nation or any tribal nation, even vaguely, is inappropriate and wrong.”

It is the only charity that got a donation from the Trump Foundation every single year from 2001-2014, ultimately receiving $832,500, 8% of the foundation's total gifts during the 14-year stretch.

An estimated 36% of the foundation’s money went to roughly 100 organizations promoting healthcare, the Forbes examination revealed. The Trump Foundation gave more than $465,000 to both the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Operation Smile, which offers free surgeries to children born with cleft palates in developing countries. The foundation gave at least $326,000 to New York Presbyterian Hospital and $250,750 to its sister institution, the Hospital for Special Surgery, which is also based in New York City.

The Cherokee Nation was really quite offended that Warren thought having 1/1024th Columbian DNA would suffice to show she was Cherokee, a "person of colour", etc. Contrary to what you might think, most people are mixed race to varying degrees, Warren is extremely white.

According to the Cherokee Nation, a DNA test can only be used to show lineage by telling you if someone is a descendent of another individual they have DNA of. Not to show you have some DNA of a population group related to Columbians.

Remember that she was telling elaborate stories about family feuding over Cherokee blood, writing recipes in Cherokee cookbooks, getting listed as a person of colour at Harvard, etc.

Warren's chances of winning the Presidency just went down considerably.

 

It shows she has 1/32 to 1/1024 Columbian/Peruvian blood. The Cherokee Nation has come out again and said this does not make you Indian, that the whole thing is a farce.

Her actions do not match the facts, and she will be slaughtered for it. She just bought herself 20 years in the Senate.

Don't forget, Obama also used the Oval Office to catapult sales of his book while he was President when he first came into office. He has used the Presidency to enrich himself, not only while in office, but afterwards as well.
