Trump is inventing excuses and alibis for Mohammed Bin Salman.

Kushner is a dupe of the Saudis hypnotized by the smell of oil dollars.

I guess luring a dissident legal US resident Saudi journalist into a trap, where a hit team of 15 saudis having flown to turkey, including a high ranking security official and a number of the prince's own security detail AND a forensic expert AND a doctor, proceeded to murder him within the Saudi consulate and then chop up his body and ship it out, ain't a big deal these days in trumpland.

Sounds like one of their wet dreams of dealing with the NYT or the Post.

Nobody's blaming trump.

They are criticizing his weasely reaction to it. The world is watching and respect for American values is on the table.

 

Donald Trump is complicit. Evidently, US intelligence had intercepted Saudi communications which detailed a plan to abduct Khashoggi.

It's not credible that Trump and Kushner would not have been informed by US intelligence of that intercept.

It didn't seem to be a problem when Obama's limp wristed leadership emboldened Al Queda to kill 4 AMERICANS in Benghazi. This guy isn't even an American. It's a Saudi matter and none of our business. Imo there is sort of a parallel between Susan Rice being put on tv and Pompeo off to SA.

But what people tend to overlook is that Trump really is the opposite of Obama on things like Egypt's overthrow of Mubarak. And all in all, imo Egypt would have been better off without any revolution.

 

The Trump admin is all in on the neocon dream of regime change in Iran. MbS is all in on that.

Not that I thought Obama was much good on for policy, but the sunni are every bit capable of overdoing it on killing for their version of Islam as are the shiaa. And the Sunni's actually attacked us, which Iran hasn't done. So as military allies, I'd avoid them both. But Iran is funding Hezbollah and generally making life difficult.
