Bush Lawyer sneers at a 110 billion dollar arms deal with the Saudis but he ignores various important points

1) That 110 billion dollar arms deal translates to as many as 500,000 jobs in the United States. Thats kind of a big deal.
2) The more U.S. arms a nation like Saudi Arabia uses, the more influence on its military the U.S. has. Which is undoubtedly a good thing given that the military in many of these countries is one of the few moderating influences.

It is also more than a big deal that the USA has been an arms dealer to many nations

 

Why? Because it has uncovered inconvenient truths?

Because although many of these nations have laws prohibiting dragnet surveillance of their citizens, there's nothing saying they cant share surveillance with everyone else in the agreement, bypassing the spirit of the law.
