I am retired military (28 years) and I had a security clearance from Secret to Top Secret for my whole career. Again, what information did they have to launch an investigation? Investigations are based on who, what, where and when. Ford offered the who. She couldn't tell them when or where. She gave them some "who" people and they all stated that they had no knowledge about her specific allegation so the "who" was shot in the ass. Her story changed numerous times. There wasn't anything to investigate. The prosecutor said she couldn't have retained a warrant because of the lack information offered by the accuser. It was a manufactured allegation. I expect an investigation if more corroborated evidence is presented. The standard should be the same for Booker that there should have been for Kavanaugh. It should not be the same lack of standards that the Democrats pushed for in the Kavanaugh investigation. Of course the Democrats will scream for the higher standard than they did for Kavanaugh. He's a Democrat and they think that the rules are different for them.
I do and after twice asking you a question you still didn't answer my question. I guess that answers my question.
Sorry, I thought the answer was obvious; like with Booker, there was an accusation of a crime. Both the accuser and the accused should be investigated by the appropriate authorities. Is this really news to you?
Awesome, thanks for your service. I am pretty sure the screening for Secret and Top Secret are different than what Brett Kananaugh wen through for his 6 FBI investigations, especially for the 2nd highest court in the country. I would imagine they get pretty intensive. Even so, he had Condoleezza Rice giving him a recommendation which is pretty high praise.
Pretty similar. Background checks are background checks. Some require more scrutiny that others. Do you think a background check for SCOTUS is more or less stringent than one for a TS clearance? BTW, did you serve? How long? Do you only appreciate the lifetime service of those with whom you agree?
I don't think either one of the incidents rise to the level of investigation at this point. Accusations need some information to back them up. Neither situation has any other than vague allegations. They both needed more information to justify anything more than a cursory investigation. If the people launching the investigation can't tell them who, what, when and where. The investigators can't just pull information form their ass or thin air as to where to start. Someone assaulted me. Who? That guy. Where did he assault you? No idea. Do you know the address or city or street or what the house looks like? No idea, not a clue. When? No idea. What were you wearing? A dress. A dress? No, a swim suit. A swim suit? No, a swimsuit and a dress. What did you do then? I went home. How did you get home? No idea. Who witnessed it? Those folks. Did you folks see this? No idea what she's talking about. End of investigation.
Yes, I held a TS as well and it's not nearly all that bad. Kavanugh had the FBI doing an intense background examination for the 2nd highest court in the country. Pretty sure that outweighs anything we did. Yes, I served, a long time, no, friends of mine to this day come from many backgrounds.
I agree he is innocent until proven guilty. All republicans posting believe this. But it makes me wonder why Democrats don't go after him the way they went after Kavanaugh. A standard for D vs one for Rs. That is why they support Booker but hated Kavanaugh.
Thanks. I got paid for it. Yeah, his security requirements are a lot higher than a TS. He can hear compartmentalized information from the DOJ and FBI at some pretty high levels in his previous job.
Yea, for sure. It's what pisses me off that Hillary didn't get thrown in jail for her leaking of confidential material and her private server. Any and all of us would have done 20 years for that. She walked away with full protection. unreal.
Yeah, Sec State that knows less about handling confidential information than the average E-4 and has problems using email on a PC but they still ran her as a candidate for president.
Yeah, what a ride. I squirreled away my deployment money and moved to the mountains after I retired. Now I stand on the deck in my underwear and holler, "Get off my property" at tourists.
What went uninvestigated as to Ford's accusation? Not one person was restricted from talking to anyone.
There has to be a victim to make a claim. Right now you have nothing and the lawyer, a Republican Party official with every motivation in the world, won't back it up.
Disagreed, but it's interesting to see you (inadvertently) claim all the Hillary Benghazi investigations were a complete waste of taxpayer dollars. Just so we're clear, I think the tragedy should have been investigated and think the true target should have been Obama, not the out-of-the-loop Hillary.
So what are the differences in background checks between a SCOTUS and a TS? Interesting you didn't answer the question about who you respect for serving.
Every leftist in America must be waiting for their turn under the #MeToo Microscope. serves them right.
