Trump is sending the army

This is quite simply a blatant, almost child-like, Election Day P.R. move to bolster members of his cult who think downtrodden dads, moms, and children from dirt poor Honduras are a threat. Trump has members of his cult thinking the danger is imminent. The caravan is still a 1,000 miles away. That is one hell of a walk.

It is readily apparent Trump thinks he is still a reality T.V. star, and he is putting on a show for his audience, his gullible base. They believe anything.

Trump has them believing that the caravan consists of MS-13 and Middle Eastern terrorists. Unfortunately, his cult was too busy watching re-runs of The Simpsons, and they didn't catch it when Trump was forced by reporters to admit, “There's no proof of anything" with respect to criminals and terrorists in the caravan.

The AP reports, "The Trump administration is planning to dispatch at least 800 active-duty troops to the southern border at the direction of a president who has sought to transform fears about immigration into electoral gains in the midterms as a caravan of thousands of migrants makes its way through Mexico."

The AP added, "The additional troops would provide logistical and other support to the Border Patrol, said the U.S. official."

More on that. The troops being sent by Trump will not be armed. The unarmed army will be basically a maintenance crew. They would assist the Border Patrol by providing things such as vehicles, tents and equipment. There already are about 2,000 National Guard members there under a previous Pentagon arrangement.

The AP said, "Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said in an interview with Fox News on Thursday that the Department of Homeland Security had asked the Department of Defense to "bolster" their capabilities with air support, vehicle barriers, engineering and other logistical assistance. National Guard troops can perform those same functions, so it was not immediately clear why active-duty forces were sought."

I believe I have already dealt with that issue.

Trump and the Republicans are doing everything possible to deflect from major issues like healthcare - which is why the "caravan" became so important, even though it's 1,000 miles away and presents no danger, just like the last one in April. Trump & Republicans must think their supporters are just plain stupid in order to buy this nonsense, their problem is the rest of the population isn't brain dead and they aren't buying the "caravan" BS. Honestly, it boggles the mind, LOL....

OMG people. This is such a non issue. The Military is going for humanitarian support and to help Mexico deal with this when they finally arrive to the border. They are 1,000 miles+ away. Trump is just trying to fire up his base with scare rhetoric so that they go out more on election day and vote. And the left will fire up their base by yelling that Trump wants to separate parents from their Children. It's the same empty rhetoric over and over and over again from both sides. There have been numerous caravan's that come to the border, but none of this size. That is why the Military is going to assist. Nothing more, nothing less. Nobody is going to be shot or blown up by our Military. Sorry to the psychos that actually want this to happen.

Well I suppose it is better to be prepared then not. The Border Patrol can always use a hand and this will be good training. I have no issue with the President sending them some help.

 

Should we presume you are in favor of allowing an invasion of our country? What happens if ISIS, cartel members, MS-13 gang members, human traffickers, etc. join the mob? You are a perfect example of a president i would not vote for because they couldn't be trusted to protect the country, which should be the first priority of both the president and congress!

Where did I say that? What I will say is that the number of people in this 'caravan' that will actually present themselves at the border is likely to be quite insignificant, just as the caravan in April was and the one in spring 2017. It makes for a great marketing ploy for Trump and his fans though......hate, fear & hype all at the same time - typical Trump.

Edited to add: It is way beyond time for reforming immigration legislation, it's been looked at for years with no success (the Senate came up with something 5 years ago but the House passed. I believe all parties must get together and solve this. It can be done, if the will is there.....

 

The ten thousand plus on the way and the ten thousand plus in the next caravan and the next after that.

A number of air national guard units are being deployed. They will provide aerial surveillance.

 

Most of these mobs are able-bodied young -adult- men. If they are pushing women and children into the photo ops, it's for optics and fooling no one. No one rational buys the "caravan" narrative also. The pictures of these thugs looks like a mob, and that's exactly what they are, a mob. Not some "caravan," not "refugees," a lawless, curiously well-funded and provisioned MOB.

If this mob gets into this country somehow via some kind of Democrat finagling or obstruction, Democrats can kiss the Presidency goodbye for a generation.
