I'll pass on that one. No thanks.

    https://www.npr.org/2018/10/22/6588...des-are-inserting-microchips-under-their-skin

Technology continues to get closer and closer to our bodies, from the phones in our pockets to the smartwatches on our wrists. Now, for some people, it's getting under their skin.

In Sweden, a country rich with technological advancement, thousands have had microchips inserted into their hands.

The chips are designed to speed up users' daily routines and make their lives more convenient — accessing their homes, offices and gyms is as easy as swiping their hands against digital readers.

They also can be used to store emergency contact details, social media profiles or e-tickets for events and rail journeys within Sweden.

RFIDs in Europe means common currency in N. America.

Save this one too for your later use @Striped Horse. And make it count when you do ...

    Here;

6 Ways to Upgrade Potato Chips

A crispy potato chip can be deliciously satisfying on its own. But it can get so much better. The next time you reach for that crinkly bag of crispy goodness, try one of these great potato chip upgrades.

    1. Potato Chips with Whipped Beurre Blanc
For this dip, chef Dave Beran took inspiration from the classic French butter sauce beurre blanc, spiked with shallots, wine vinegar and herbs.

    2. Potato Chips with Nori Salt
These chips get lots of umami flavor from homemade nori salt.

    3. Potato Chips with Blue Cheese
Bobby Flay layers potato chips with a creamy, slightly spicy blue cheese sauce.

    4. Potato Chip Tower with Scallops and Caviar
This luxe chip tower is layered with caviar, scallop slices and chive crème fraîche.

    5. Potato Chips with Chèvre, Pepper Jelly and Bacon
In this quick appetizer, thick-cut potato chips are topped with creamy goat cheese, sweet-spicy pepper jelly and smoky bacon.

    6. Chive-Spiked Smoked Salmon on Crisps
Crispy chips are the perfect vehicle for citrusy minced smoked salmon.

Even the Bible speaks about a 'mark' which is used to make purchases (one cannot sell or buy without it).

Why speak of "the Bible"? One book of the Bible, namely Apocalypse (Revelation), mentions it.

Because it is in the Bible. It doesn't matter which book, or chapter.

Good stuff that will eventually be used here. Makes life so much easier from buying groceries at a store to airport security.

Lot's of negatory votes. What about nanobots that will be able to kill a virus or cancer that no medication can touch? Isn't that similar? Couldn't they program some to do something other than kill cancer?

No, unlikely. However, it does seem similar. Soon they'll implant into the brain and our phone calls and internet usage will display in our field of view, like a hologram, but inside our eyes.

Nope, but a lot of biblical language is vague. What about a microchip is a "mark," exactly?

And when will the Swedes be putting these things in their foreheads? :D

Do you have a specific practical objection or is it just a generic fear of something new and largely unknown?

Yes. One of the functions of this device is to enable the wearer to make purchases, and this is coming at the same time Sweden is discussing switching into a cashless system.

I don't believe the Bible is talking about a microchip. The "mark of the beast" will be the same as God's mark. It will be a person's thoughts (forehead) and deeds (wrist) that will determine someones character and his/hers allegiance to the Beast.

    https://www.ministryinsights.com/quick-insight-marked-man-woman/

John proved worthy of that trust. “From then on this disciple took her into his home” (John 19:27). Through the ages, the Apostle John has become synonymous with the character traits of faithfulness, stability, and reliability. He has become a “marked” man – one known by reputation.

God wired you with strengths – the unique traits you exhibit and the unique manner on which you carry out tasks. Your strengths reflect elements of His character.

When you focus on using your strengths, developing your strengths, and exercising your strengths, you become known as a person who can be counted upon to exhibit them.

Like John, you become a resource that is ready to respond with your strengths, even in challenging circumstances. Like John, you build a reputation. Like John, God gives you tasks and entrusts you carry them out in the way He has wired you.

You become a marked man or a marked woman.

It would have to be a physical mark, since it will be used to approve or decline purchases, and it is something people will be forced to take.

Right hand or forehead. It seems the Swedes are choosing the hand.

"It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name."

That it does but, invoking religious prophecy diminishes the issue by giving the demons something to attack.

The right to privacy is one of the more critical safeguards against totalitarianism. The ability to track an individual at all times gives the State tremendous power - via a chip - monitoring all financial transactions (via the elimination of cash), facial recognition software, camera's everywhere.

We should be just as concerned by the ability of the State to track, watch, and listen to us through phone and smart TV as the chip.

    Yes, I agree.

If there is a one world government, with one ruler (as the Bible predicts), that ruler would benefit if he had a mechanism to track people, and control (or influence) their daily lives via a chip.
